Steve Jones was completely out of line on tonight's results show....
- forcing Paula after she said she wasn't voting.
- "ARE YOU TELLING ME PAULA'S ABSTAINING FROM VOTING?" seriously shut up steve jones.
- confusing people with "simon, you have the deciding vote", when the vote had already been sealed at that point
- poor Paula after realizing this, crying that she wanted to give the group at least a chance and she'd save them (implying she was voting off the other group) -- the moron of a host then continued to bother her "I need you to say who you're voting off!"
- sarcastically "okay, we got a vote in the end"

Watch the video for yourself. Cringe worthy.

No idea where they got this guy from. He's just horrible. Simon Cowell fired the wrong British import .... At least Cheryl came across as likable. Steve Jones has been universally panned from the start. He's had his chance, he hasn't improved. He needs to be thrown out.

-----------

Comments from people:

-When paula was cryin and steve went all "The rules states simon i have to get this out." i wanted to BITCH SLAP his ass all the way BACK to his dumb island he lives on. I WILL DEPORT YOU! Threatening an american. GTFO steve Do not PUSH paula. Simon said no HE IS YOU BOSS.

-I can't stand Steve Jones... Simon even realized it was hard for Paula and would accept it if she didn't make a pick. Steve Jones will not be hear next season. Simon will tolerate him for now but he will be sent packing once the season is over.

- OH MY GOD. I hate Steve Jones so much. My heart just shattered into a million pieces for Paula <\3

-I'm hoping the next elimination is Steve Jones, the worst one on the stage in Los Anjeleez

- There's gonna be another remake of how to loose a guy in 10 days: "How to loose Steve Jones in 5 minutes"

Yeah everybody here knows that he'll likely get fired. There's a post every day here saying how terrible he is doing.

what a complete overreaction and thanks for the repeating those hateful comments about steve from those us sources.

frankly, i wish simon would just put him out of his misery and he can return to welsh soil. he is at least appreciated here in wales.

I don't blame Steve for Paula's crying indecisiveness tonight. Steve sucks as a host, but don't blame drama queen Paula on him. He was just trying to do his job correctly by explaining the rules.

Agree with this. I hate him but this is not his fault.
He has the producers in his ear and they either said let her off or she has to vote.
Besides I hate it when judges don't vote, It's their bloody job and to weasel their way out sucks. Crying like a baby is unprofessional.
I hated it when they let Cheryl get away with it last year.
That's why mentors should always be asked last so they can sent it to a public vote if they feel unable to make a decision.

I agree. Does the OP not realise these pampered judges are paid a bloody fortune to do a simple job ( a lot easier in the USA as well, because they all start MUCH further up the talent ladder). They know the rules. they should stop throwing their toys out of the pram and just do that bloody job. Steve is probably being blasted in his ear by the producers to get her to vote.

Paula's ridiculous, by abstaining she was automatically choosing to send Stereo Hoggz (?sp) home she was just too pathetic to actually do it.
I've always loved Steve Jones but I have to say he is truly terrible in this show, I hope he still gets work back here when he gets sent home...

Wow, talk about overreaction.

I was expecting something much, much more than it turned out to be. That's a typical UK response when two acts from the same category/judge lands in the bottom two.

I don't see where Steve went wrong... he had to confirm who was voting who, otherwise it ends up a big, unclear mess and the viewers would be outraged at how unclear the voting was.

Also, not quite sure where Paula was "crying" in that video, she pretends to wipe away tears, sure, but it's all fake and set up.

It's all scripted... like someone said, it's just a soap opera really but more nasty and manipulative.

This man has no charisma, no empathy, no personality, he has less going for him than R2D2.

Paula knew the rules of the vote off so therefore she should've known it was coming. Steve was totally in the right.

LOL at Simon though after Steve asked him for his decision. His face was a picture.

I haven't particularly liked Steve's presenting of USXF, mostly because it sounds as if he's trying to lose his Welsh accent and sound more like VoiceOver man. I also don't think he has the rapport with the acts that Dermot has.

However, I don't know why people are up in arms about him explaining the rules here - Paula was unprofessional and bang out of order. The judges get paid extortionate amounts of money and they know in advance that it's likely at some point that they will have to vote one of their own acts off. All Steve was doing was clarifying the situation and explaining the rules, and he had the producers in his ear the whole time.

It's nothing we haven't seen here, so why people are overreacting so much ("threatening an American"?? ) is beyond me.

Anyway, I'm all for critising people when they don't do their jobs very well or they irritate me, but this band wagon hating on steve jones is stupid. Steve was doing his job, and Paula wasn't.

Why all the hate for Steve Jones? He was just doing his job. which is more than can be said for Paula, the drama queen.

Paula's fault entirely. Silly moo didn't even grasp that by abstaining she was sending home the boys anyway.

Lovely hateful comments there that say more about the viewers than Steve, to be honest.

But yeah, I haven't seen him on XF but after all I've read about him it's obviously unlikely that he'll be back for another series.

Oh dear God! Another I hate Steve thred. I admit he isn't as good as Dermot but to say that he treated Paula badly is just wrong, Paula was the one who was being the drama queen and I think she got off lightly with Steve. I'm sure our Dermot would have gave her a harder time too. I think that Steve was just having trouble understanding Paula's initial decision to abstain thereby sending Stereo Hogz home. If Paula had any sense she should have known what her initial decision meant but she was too busy acting the drama queen to realise what her decision ould mean until Simon pointed it out to her. Plus surley Paula's knows how badly most groups fare in this competition. |We have had three series where two groups have one in the first two weeks so it is not unusual. If anyone need sacking it Paula and her fake emotions.

I don't as a general rule watch XF USA (I don't have time to track two shows!!) but watched the closing parts of last nights show and my god Steve Jones is abysmal!! His timing, tonality and choice of words are just so wrong it looks like he is one of those dire TV wannabes hosting one of those late night gameshows on obscure satellite channels (the one where there is no audience and the host just rabbles on, trying to get people to phone in and play or online) - kind of glad Dermot didn't get the US job as that could have meant we got Steve!

I thought Steve Jones was okay. Paula made a hash of it. It's not a life threatening decision.
and she must have a genuine preference - they're not her children.

Paula Abdul - do the job you are paid to do stupid
Steve Jones - just an annoying zit on the face of X Factor
Simon Cowell - the architect of this car crash

Steve seemed a decent host and much more personable guy on UK TV shows, but over there he isn't coping very well. He's coming across as dull, unfriendly and annoying
