**SPOILERS RE: USA X Factor** Simon Cowell is absolutely laughable
-Malibu-
11-11-2011
Just a few weeks ago he stated infront of millions that the 'Stereo Hogzz' were very probably the best band in the world right now

Now after two weeks of voting, they have been in the bottom 2 twice and now are sent packing. I wonder what opinion Cowell has of them now?

He really has made a lot of mistakes re: over-glorifying US X Factor. He thought it was going to be a lot bigger than it is.

He voted them off last week against the 'Glee' act as well. That was in the same show as he said they were 'probably the best group in the world right now'.

The man really is a complete joke. I have no idea why such a talent guy like LA Reid is even on this show, think of the roster of artists that he has made in to the superstars we see today, compared to Cowell's Susan Boyle, I'm a huge Leona fan so I can't say anything bad about her.

And for the record I thought Stereo Hoggz were garbage.

I just feel bad for Paula because she works so hard and is passionate about her groups. But she was right, it's really hard for groups to get votes on X Factor

Paula's fault in a way, she chose the groups ( unless it's as much of a fix as here). Putting InTENsity through was absurd, but Simon saying they were the best group was idiotic. He's just a walking cliched soundbite. Like last week saying Rachel changing her lyrics was called "inventive" when it was a rehash of Gamu's performance.

They were out of tune this week and seem dated, like a throwback to the old Motown groups such as The Temptations and The Four Seasons.

If I didn't want Josh to win, I'd far rather Nicole lost all her acts. She gets worse each week. Paula seems to work really well with her groups. I like her this time round after years of rolling my eyes at her during Idol

The mantle of best band in the world has now passed to Lakoda Rayne.

It's funny, when the one that isn't blonde screwed up the survival song, I swear that tall blonde # 1 turned her back on her and placed her arm around tall blonde # 2. Tall blonde # 2 later had to bark an order to the one that isn't tall to start singing, and when the one that isn't blonde tried to put her arm around tall blonde # 1, tall blonde # 1 looked a bit frosty. I bet the tall blondes would go solo in a heart beat if they could.

Terrible band. Simply horrid. Clearly it wasn't in the script that they'd flub the intro so they were saved as if the incident never occurred. Preposterous.

One thing the US panel has going for it is Simon is one of the executive producers and this is his format so rather than four stooges with voices barking in their ears what to do he can steer proceedings himself if he wants to. Also Antonio Reid is so successful in his own right you can expect that his authority has weight backstage. So in a sense the deliberations played out on screen probably are a reflection of how that conversation goes during pre-production. Which is a little hard to say about the idiots on the UK panel. In fairness the earlier stages did a good job of showing Simon in consultation with co-workers how to assess the candidates, including the choreographers and songwriters and network suits. When he said he was his own star guest that was only a little tongue in cheek. Obviously the over 30s category was not decided by Nicole "Zoolander" Scherzinger and Enrique Iglesias, we just didn't get to see the conversations with senior colleagues off screen. Paula didn't exactly make any choices when it came to putting through the acts manufactured at boot camp so it doesn't particularly matter what the deal was there except to highlight how predetermined a lot of the process is. Dexter already commented he knew in advance what the cuts would be. Hopefully that terrible girl group finish bottom of the vote again next week but I imagine they'd be saved as it presents a problem losing a category this early. Surprised Stacy eluded the bottom of the poll. She was thrown under a bus with horrible styling (that forehead!) and song choice and they gave her the death slot as well. Perhaps she has too much publicity now to be vulnerable to the anonymous acts even if she's mostly unpopular. Attention will always translate to votes coming from somewhere. Her performance was woeful this week. It might be hard to get rid of her now they tried and failed. She's obviously a better singer than they made her look this time. I think the next strategy which we saw set in motion is to establish Melanie as the better voice in that style and to discontinue Rachel's children's sitcom in favour of her being a younger alternative to Stacy whose potential lies in the future not in the past.

InTENsity and Lakoda Rayne were conceptually good ideas. Glee is very popular, so I could see them thinking this was an opportunity to cash in on that gravy train. And who doesn't like 4 pretty white girls singing country music?

I'm not against the manufactured bands because you will generally get more talent to work with, as opposed to a band that is formed out of friendship where there is a massive imbalance of talent (i.e. Stereo Hoggz).

Lakoda Rayne will get the boot next week...not because they are inferior to other contestants in the show, but because "America don't like groups in their singing shows."

I think InTensity was too big. 10 people is too much, it's not for X factor. there are practically no such groupes in real life - they should have cut down all girls from this group then they would have 5 boys some of which are rather cute which is enough in these shows and all them should sing not 2 - it's stupid and alienates public. then Paula would still have 2 acts this week.Plus that group that Paula axed of 2 brothers would go far in America as family groupes are popular there.

I guess they tried to emulate S Club 7 (or Glee?) with InTENsity but failed miserably.

Ellona was far and away the most talented singer/performer in this group. Losing her would kind of defeat the purpose.

There are 12 characters in Glee, so if that was the model they were going for, it wasn't so much. The difference is that Glee is a one hour show with revolving story lines. I knew nothing of any of the kids in inTENsity other than Ellona, Nick, and Ausem. There just wasn't enough time to let any of their personalities come through.

The boyband would not have been a good idea. Boybands went out of style in the USA back in the late '90s. The last thing we need is a One Direction clone.

I don't know about the Brewer Boys, and "family groups" haven't been popular since The Partridge Family and Brady Bunch days . Ok, we had the Jonas Brothers and Hanson, but even they were short-lived.
