Joe McElderry Remembrance Festival
Parneb

.
I have looked back to see if this has been posted before.....could not find anything.

Joe McElderry has been asked to sing during the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance BBC1 Saturday 12th November at 9.15pm.

Well done Joe for the invite. He has done very well since winning Popstar to Operastar.

Well done young man!

The thread title amused me as it made me imagine a festival dedicated to the memory of Joe's deceased music career! Yes, disrespectful of me, I know....

As a vocalist, X Factor was pure and simply the wrong "competition" for him.

For a moment, I thought he was dead.

Not really. Wasn't he an "also ran" until a school teacher was found in bed with one of the pupils? Maybe I am thinking of another series or another show entirely.

I see the amazing Alfie Boe is also performing - this will be one to record and keep

Looking forward to hearing Joe sing.
An honour for him to be asked to perform at this.

He will be in great company - alongside Sir Cliff Richard, Alfie Boe and Katherine Jenkins.

All four - great vocalists.

Sorry I like Joe's voice but that is the first time ever I have heard him sing flat. Maybe he was nervous I don't know but not Joe at his best

I don't know what you are talking about, but he was not flat. Far from it.

I had it on, and my sister came over to see who that was. That is one thing we know about Joe is he is able to handle himself excellently under pressure (surprising actually), and his X Factor performances, tours, live performances have shown that.

Wonderful performance!

Gotta be honest, for a minute I thought you made a thread to remember him...

I thought it was a nice rendition... although to me he struggled a bit with the lower parts of the songs (seemed a bit low for his range) ... an honour for him to be asked to perform there though

If the X Factor was a record label and not a television show they'd have fired their A&R department years ago.

Alfie Boe, my most disliked vocalist currently being brain washed into us. If ever there was karaoke semi opera competition, that bloke would win hands down, awful, just awful IMO.

Joe was not flat. It's very rare for his tuning to be anything other than spot on.

The low notes were quiet at the beginning, just as they are meant to be - Joe gives full expression to every song he sings and that includes exploiting the full range of dynamics.

We shall agree to disagree then although I should add my mother (a music teacher) thought he was also flat.

It's a song written for a baritone so I don't think it was really suited to his voice but he didn't sound flat to me. He never sings flat, he has a lovely sound. Not a song for him this time though.

Alfie Boe is amazing, I've seen him live a number of times and his voice is incredible. CloudyE joins me in that there are singers I dislike greatly but I hold the minority view!
