Thank you, God .... finally - a talented performer with the potential to ensure that we get some "proper" dancing from the professionals after last week's awful pole dancing/full monty efforts !

I love the pros but those performances were awful. Who choreographed the girl or the boys routine? It was just terrible.

Girls routine by Aliona.

Boys routine by Mandy Moore, a jazz/contemporary choreographer (I know, I asked the same question, "Why?!").

Normally I would be really excited at the thought of Andre performing on Strictly, but yesterday someone bought me a copy of his latest cd, and what a dreadful disappointment.

With tracks including If You Knew Susie; Are You Lonesome Tonight, Singing in the Rain, and We'll Meet Again ..... Andre seems to have lost his way; and to be honest, soundwise, the recordings were not even a very good quality either.

[Remembrance Day? Maybe he will play We'll Meet Again.]

I'm sure he'll still be a huge improvement on the crap guests they've had recently

Andre Rieu is a fantastic musician.

Hope he plays something that shows of his supreme talent.

He has a new album out And I think after Strictly it wil have a fir few people wanting it.

this will be a good guest

I'd like David Garrett to come on playing his fiddle as well.

I expect he's too expensive

He can play his fiddle for me any day of the week ()

Andre Rieu

What is next? The 3Js (see Eurovision semi´s this year)

Mind you, we are rather short on talented musicians (and the most succesful one in my country at the moment you guys have already seen this series).

Honestly, thought that Rieu only did those cheesy German slager shows which I constantly see him on

I'd rather have David Garrett.

How's he going to fit all his orchestra into the studio? I've seen him live and there are loads of them. There'll be no room for dancing if he brings the full team.

Andre Rieu is playing a piece composed by Sir Anthony Hopkins according to Radio Times.

It's the WALTZ! What an inspired choice!

I hope they give it a Remembrance Day spin to it and all the Pros doing a beautiful VW, possibly in uniform or something!!!

Ahhhhh!!! So exciting! Can't wait now!!!

Just the right length as well, less than 2 minutes, and with a violin solo, and the beginning bit sounds very traditional VW-ish and the second part with a Russian-style twist.

Perfect Sunday night number!

Why not give Strictly the best our country has to offer: Roel Driesvink!!
Image the shockwaves that will blast through this board.

Me too.

I've always felt the route by which people become interested in classical music to be unimportant but in the case of Andre Reiu I make an exception. Unlike Garrett, Nigel Kennedy and indeed Vanessa Mae, Reiu is first and foremost a showman; he doen't have the talent to enthrall an audience without his gimmicky company of crinoline clad ladies. imo his gift for self promotion has enabled him to build an international career on talent that is little more than mediocre.

An article in the Telegraph described him as a modern day Strauss and the Waltz King!

Sacrilege and such disrespect to the memory of the one and only King of Waltz - Johann Strauss ll.

You mean the house band couldn't play a couple of Strauss waltzes?
That's what he's made his fortune doing - and not especially well, either.

I doubt they could recite their name, age and star-sign ..... in that order
