Why did LA Reid not give Jessie J a Standing Ovation?

I have alot of respect for LA REID and his achievements but I thought it was a little disrespectful not to give her a standing ovation and then go and give Willow Smith one. Have they had some dealings in the past perhaps, was just a little surprising he didn;t get up.

Thoughts ?

I thought it was rude, he didnt even bother to clap he just had a drink of his water.

He does himself no favours standing for a very bad performance by Willow Smith and snubbing a superior act. The Jessie J song was penned by a man that's had seven US number ones since the start of 2010. Jealousy? One of those two girls can sing the other is eleven years old and owes her career to nepotism. If Willow Smith was on the X Factor she'd be the worst act. Jessie J would probably win it. If it had been Katy Perry or Ke$ha singing the same song from that production house would he have shown more respect? Her words of advice to the contestants were sensible and revealed a wise attitude. She's earned her opportunity and is a lot more deserving of praise than the other guest. Yet Reid's body language would infer their status ought to be reversed. Not a good sign from the person that purportedly brings credibility to an open audition process.

Perhaps he was standing. It's hard to tell with LA....

I wouldn't have given her a standing ovation either. Ghastly creature.

It's actually the one thing I abhor about the show. Seems a standing ovation for guest acts is part of the script these days. When I was on stage, as recently as three years ago, a standing ovation had to be earned and was a sure way of telling you'd had a great show. On TXF, it's so predictable and insincere. Good on LA Reid, he obviously didn't think she deserved one. Nice to see that not everyone has been completely brainwashed by the Syco machine.

XFUSA needs to step it up with the results show and bring on someone better than these d-Listers. American Idol has way better results show guest performers.

I think when a guest act comes on to the show the least you can do is clap, plus he stood for Willow Smith, she hardly deserved it.

There has to be a murky reason - remember Cheryl/Dannii when Jamiroquai came on!

L.A Reid is known for his mistakes I suppose.

Dropped GaGa
Had some sort of a fall out with P!nk in her early career (told her she would never be a popstar)

Clap, yes. Stand, not unless you think the act deserves it.

It was very rude. If it is because she wouldn't sign to his label that pretty pathetic and childish of him.

Yeah but he gave Willow Smith a standing ovation. Come on. She was a train wreck. It was like they allowed a friend's child on stage as a favour. So if you want to make this about integrity Antonio Reid clearly lacked it one time or the other. Which is it? Agree that Jessie J has been genetically engineered as part of an experiment in bad taste. That's a good Lukasz Gottwald song she's got and she's now one of his protégés. She has the talent to improve as a singer and songwriter and producer.

If you've paid to go and see someone then yes, a standing ovation definitely needs to be earned but as these people are 'guests' on the show, I think it's only polite to give them a standing ovation. On the UK X Factor, Kelly Rowland gave The Wanted a standing ovation even though, judging by her face, she clearly wasn't that impressed...

Don't be silly...it wasn't "like" they allowed ia "friend's" child onstage as a favour..

I don't think she's the most amazing act on the planet, but Jessie J has some good music, sings well enough, has a unique voice and will likely be arround writing songs and working in music in some capacity long after Will Smith's answer to Kelly Osborne is yesterday's news

Whereas Willow Smith is a musical genius and the fact she has a multimillionaire actor/rapper for a dad, gives her no advantages in the industry whatsoever

Yes but it was Gaga before she became quirky, she probably wasn't very marketable at the time

That is exactly how I feel about guests who come on the show.
