Was Frankie's cocaine and sex confession just a stunt to boost X Factor's ra

There's a great article in today's Daily Mail about the whole Frankie Cocozza saga being too contrived to be true.

It wouldn't surprise me if the events of the last week were all a big stunt, and Frankie ends up "being forgiven" and making a big comeback to the show in a few weeks time.

Given that the show will be over in a few weeks time I'm not sure how such a plan would work

Why on earth would they think that kind of publicity would help?

I know they do things to boost ratings, but I don't think they'd set someone up as a druggie.

Having artisis kicked out and brought back is the only kind of controversy they can generate. Especially as there is no popular favourite and no talent left on the show. Worked this year in the US.

Wouldn't surprise me at all if Frankie was kept in to be kicked out. The only thing that made him stand out was his unpleasnantness. It wouldn't even surprise me if Amelia was kicked out to be brought back.

Manipulaion is the name of the game.

It's not a stunt they wouldn't have axed him for a publicity stunt. It just seems unreal cause now of course they try to spin it for as much money making as possible and they also try to make X-factor come out as innocent as possible.

Don't forget it is the Mail which has this story!

Are you suggesting that the voting might be rigged then? Because no matter how much she's the favourite, there's no guarantee with a public vote. Bigger shocks have happened on XF.

Why else would they tip out the favourite in show 1 other than that she was guaranteed to get back in, should the opportunity occur, on a public vote?

They probably already signed him up with a recording contract and this is helping his "bad boy" image.

They wouldn't set him up but they could talk him into going along with it in return for a hundred grand's worth of tabloid interviews. I go along with the theory that he decided to leave. He may be a tool but he must've known that he was the laughing stock of the entire nation and that must hurt! I think he decided to walk and they proposed that he go out with a bang and make a small fortune. It also appears that the arrangement was a week in the arranging.

my theory is the producers including gary knew frankie had been taking 'cokeupthenozza' you just look at the change of his face from his first audition to now and you can tell. then frankie must have been boasting about it the producers had to take action or would seem that they encouraged drug taking so they kicked him off/ or they were sitting in a room deciding what week to kick frankie out buy doing eni mini miny mo and this is the week that was left

ITV would not dare rig the voting. In 2008 Ofcom fined them 5.8 MILLION pounds for voting iregularities on several ITV shows including Ant and Dec show.

They could have their broadcasting licence taken away.

All ITV are doing with the X Factor is dumming it down, only thing is IT HAS BACKFIRED BADLY.

I tend to agree I'm sure the producers knew he was an accident waiting to happen- as if TV folks aren't well versed in the signs of cocaine addiction and were banking on something like this happen. I wouldn't like to think that he was actually supplied with the drug, but I suspect he was allowed to get out of control, in order to create a good story for the tabloids.

Proof of the pudding - if Frankie ends up with a music contract with someone - anyone - then I would say Yes.

Well spotted. As said elsewhere I believe this has been planned from the start and more and more are starting to say the same.

Agreed. Especially after the raunchy Xtina and Britney[?] performance complaints last year...
