If any of you were one of those four would you turn it down - honestly?

It's not a twist, its a patch up job.

Personally I would have turned it down because I don't think that it would have been fair for someone even myself to have missed over a months worth of performances. But if the twist had happened sooner (like the week after i'd left) I would have have said yes in a second.

Regardless of what 'the four' think of 'the twist', the vast majority of people think it was the wrong decision.

Whatever it is, the question still stands. I'm not bothered about what's happening; I'm just curious as to what people on here would do because of all the outrage on the threads. I'm a hopless singer so wouldn't be in that position myself. I'm living proof that not all Welsh people are good singers

I realise that, which is why I asked the question. Ie, would those people who think it's the wrong decision still think so if they were in that position?

It's not a 'twist' it's a desperate move so that they can finish on 10 December as planned when in reality a more sensible solution would have been to finish a week earlier on 3 December still able to enter for the Christmas number one but bringing this year's car crash series to an end as soon as possible.

I would turn it down I think. What's the point of being back in, only to be out again in five minutes.

Sorry, I can't answer your question, because even if I was a good performer/singer, I would never put myself through the media circus that is called 'The X-Factor'...

This!

But in the unlikely event of being in the 'returning 4's' shoes, I'd turn it down. I wouldn't want to return to a competition having missed 5 weeks.

I remember how I felt when 4 acts were dismissed at the start of the live shows and how awful it was to see all that disappointment. So they are now going to put themselves through that again. I for one doubt I'll watch.

I agree with this, its a damage limitaion exercise. I wouldn't go back after being humiliated once already in the name of ratings.

Maybe Peter Schmeichel; the Laudrup brothers & co should have turned down the opportunity of competing in the 1992 Football European Champions having missed 3 weeks of preparation having gone on their summer vacations; when Yugoslavia were kicked out of the tournament at the last minute due to United Nations Security Council Resolution 757.

Denmark went on to win the tournament.

Sorry, the idiotic thing that X-Factor did this year was kick out these 4 acts in the first week, without the public having a say on the outcome.

The smartest thing they should have done was have the judges kick out those 4 acts, then the public decide who should be allowed to continue in the contest in Week 2.

In short Simon Cowell & the X-Factor producers have brought this farce on themselves, so don't go blaming these 4 acts for trying to take advantage of the opportunity and return, as it was far more unfair what happened to them in Week 1.

for your analogy to be correct denmark would have gone out at the judges houses, not been eliminated from the group stage then allowed to return.

^^Agreed. The producers wanted a reason to bring Amelia back - let's face it, she was never *supposed* to leave in the first place. Sophie was the clear fall girl from that category in Week 1, but Amelia came out and gave a poor performance.

When Amelia got kicked out in Week 1, I said they would easither bring her back or change the rules so that those 4 - despite having made it to the live shows - could still reapply next year. There was no way they were going to let her go so easily.

Since you're asking hypothetically... how would you feel if you were one of the other contestants who's been slogging it out the past 4 or 5 weeks to get to this week - honestly?

pissed off in all honesty im sure, but on the other hand, say if marcus, craig, janet, kitty, little mix & misha had been eliminated, do you think they would have turned it down? they should be grateful for the fact that they had even got to the top 16 when there was many that were alot better than them that got rejected in the earlier stages...

Be careful, I think revealing a national secret that big is treason.

Yugoslavia got thrown out because politics became involved when in reality their footballers had no control over what their politicians were doing. Denmark did well to go on and win but arguably the tournament should have gone on with only 7 teams.

Its a shambles.

If I were one of the other contestants I would be seriously pee'd off. I can understand that they are one act short and I could have accepted them bringing back Johnny as he definately didn't come bottom in the voting last week, that was The Risk, but bringing back someone from week one is just a p*ss take.

I'd be seriously considering packing my bags and leaving with a bit of dignity before the whole caboodle comes crashing down.

If so many people are annoyed about her coming back so far into the competition, surely she'll suffer a backlash and end up in the bottom two
