Gary clearly didn't care, and found it funny. He was probably encouraged to make more jokes like that.

I don't know any hetrosexual men who invite another man to rub their "lamp".

Is he? I'm not so sure he is. Didn't you see the way he went all funny over Nicole Scherzinger when she was standing in as a judge last year. Even Simon was taking the mick out of him. Alright he may not be your typical "mans man" but he's hardly Julian Clarey is he.

Lol... How much clearer would you like him to make it? Do you need video evidence or something?

You must remember, at 45, the only gay men in the public eye during Johnny's formative years were pople like Larry Grayson and John Inman. They were joined latterly by singers such as Marc Almond and Boy George, but by then, the camp persona was established as really the only way for a young gay man to stamp his personality and say "I'm different" up until the early 80's. Johnny is a product of his time, and growing up in a small conservative town (both big C and little c) exacerbated that.

I can understand why Bo why you find him irritating, but i can assure completely, he is bieng himself. He's no different now to how he was at sixteen.

By the way, and at the risk of patronising you, I think it's quite sweet you posted that.

People are generally comfortable with stereotypical camp gay performers.”

Very true .

it is strange that its happening on strictly as well

with the gay judges making lewd and suggestive remarks to Harry.

It seems when its done by a gay man towards a straight man, its ok because the gay man is meant to say outragous things

Yet if Wagner said the same things to Tulisa it would be horrific even if what was said was in jest

I kinda feel uncomfortable when they say such things as its no better than sexual harrassment at work.

You can just imagine the manager saying inappropriate things to his secretary then justifying it by saying

"Oh it was only a joke" "Theyre blowing everything out of proprtion"

My neighbour knows Johnny from the Blitz club (Boy George etc) days in the 1980's. She tells me he is a genuinely lovely man - camp as a row of tents but never seeking to offend.
