Is the X-Factor going the way of Big Brother.

Controversy, arguments, too many twists, poeple leaving, etc, etc. Is this a hick-up, or the beginning of the end.

No-one can deny this series has not been one of the best.

This is what happened to BB.

Definitely.

Undoubtedly.

Though BB lasted for several more ailing series. Then died and revived itself within, like, a month?

X-Factor can either do a total format change next year or [actually] die tbh.

Most 'reality' tv is going in this direction.

It's like things have come full circle. Reality shows are getting more and more like the dramas and soaps they were touted as replacing back in the day.

And the innocence has also gone. Everyone knows the winner will have a X-mas number one, an album, then dropped after 10 months.

It's gone...
Maybe if they sold the rights to a completely new team it could be revived but I'm not sure.

Definitely.

Compare series 1 - 5 to 6 - 8 and TXF has become a complete joke.

We may have had a few dull and crap acts in series 1 - 5 but it was no where near as manipulated as it is now.

The "twists" on TXF are just unnecessary:

Jedward making the final 12 and staying over Lucie.
16 acts in the live shows.
Manipulating the rules by stating a double elimination, only to withdraw that statement because acts they want to keep (Katie & Wagner) are not actually doing that well in the voting.
Eliminating four acts at the very start of the live shows without giving the public a say ie. judges houses part two.
Bringing acts back because others quit.
They've began to think that they're untouchable and can do whatever they like - much like TPTB with Big Brother.

The public soon tires of stupid, obvious manipulation and will only stay tuned for so long.

It's frustrating because all they need is a decent "cast" and it would be brilliant without all the silly twists!

Look at series 5 - JLS, Diana, Alexandra, Laura, Ruth, Rachel. It was so exciting, a mixture of different acts that appeal to different audiences and people who are likeable and not just put there because they make headlines.

If they could manage to get five or six different acts who appeal to different audiences in the next series, they'll be onto a winner. If they continue to think only acts who create headlines will make a successful series, then TXF will soon be off our screens.

i would love it if xf and bb swapped places and bb got very popular again! i like xf but i love bb more!

plus, bb declined heavily in series 8 just like xf now

BB winners pattern:
1- Male
2- Male
3- Female
4- Male
5- Female
6- Male
7- Male

XF Winners pattern:
1- Male
2- Male
3- Female
4- Male
5- Female
6- Male
7- Male
