Which is more important to you?

you can't seperate one above the other in dance. A dance with no personality is boring. Personailty with no technique isn't dancing.

Did not mean to suggest you could but usuly one aspect is more important to you. Poor dancers do well if they are entertaining which means lots of people the dancing is not important for some people.

Personality is very dependant on who is watching. Many people who get voted early off reality TV shows or get no votes have been massively successful in fields that require viewers to like them. Its just that those people are not watching or voting. Jason is massively popular on musical tours, but he has a third of Holly's twitter following and a 25 th of Robbie's. in SCD it also depends who else is in the field and VT stories and luck. How is Chelsee different from Louisa, or Zoe from Alesha, or Gabby from Natasha?

I would say that a good dance whilst being good technically would have to include personality else it wouldn't be good

I think that is right. You need a balance. For example:

Russell just has the personality, not the dancing.

Chelsee has both.

Audley's personality's letting him down a bit on the dancefloor.

Both are important. And at the moment I only see Chelsee and Pasha having both(out of the top 3 Jason&K, Harry&A). Well Holly has a lovely personality dancer but she is not a very good dancer IMO, shes okay.
Russell , Audley have a lot of personalities but they cant dance.
Robbie whine a bit too much.Alex has a lovely personality also but she is not a good dancer.

I wouldn't vote for a bad dancer just because of their personality although I agree that they're never going to be a brilliant dancer if they don't have personality to bring to the dance.

good dancing most important to me - never ever support the duffers

for me it's between chelsee, harry, jason - holly needs to up her game, she always looks a bit lazy to me

chelsee and pasha is the best partnership out of those above

Both are needed.Tom Chambers was a good dancer but I couldn't stand him so anything he did was lost on me.I was raging when he won

It's a tough one, some people are swayed by jason's competitiveness others by Harry's shyness, others Chelsee's chaviness and a lot of people like Russell's exhuberence. The GBP will decide.

Is she chavy?
And isn't the reception for (so called) chavs usually a negative one?
Chelsee's just a bubbly northern girl (if I was to give her any description).

As to the original question, a mixture of both. 3/4's technique, 1/4 personality is fine for me. I think people like Rachel had that percentage split and while others didn't like it, it didn't bother me. Ideally someone equally good at dancing with an equally great personality is a good combo but that balance is not always easy to get right.

Both that's why i love Chelsee and Pasha, Chelsee is not a chavy she is just a fun loving bubbly girl

For me it should be 40% Dancing, 30% personality & 30% enjoyment of what you are doing.

Russell is somewhat 25% dancing 40% personality & 35% enjoying the trip.

Others have yet to make the full 100% for me.

Dancing..... but preferably with some emotion rather than just going through the steps.

I don't care how they come over in interviews or on VTs as long as they perform well on the dancefloor.

Nothing against Chelsee, she is a sweet girl and all but....

how much is it to do with her dancing that she seems so popular on these threads, because in fairness im sorry but tonight's dance was average.

Is it more her personailty, her partnership with Pasha or maybe just Pasha!!!

Had to ask out of interest?

I thought chav was more of the Vicky Pollard type. i.e. No dress sense, no vocabulary, no general intellect etc.

Boob jobs and botox are things that are presumed more as pointers of either vanity or insecurity aren't they, not chaviness (from what I was aware anyway).

First of all she is a very good dancer and second of all she has a personality to match. She gets along so well with Pasha and they are really enjoying it.They are never boring(like some couples I could mention).
How can you call that foxtrot averageI thought she did really well, considering that its the most difficult ballroom dance(because of the intricacity of the steps ); she coped with it very well and is equally good in latin and ballroom dances.
Well to each its own. Chelsee &Pash are my fav. couple and Russell &Flavia would be my 2nd favorite. .They are some people who like Jason, Harry, Anita, Robbie ...

I think she is both a great, natural dancer and has a fun, bubbly personality. I enjoyed her dance tonight and thought she proved she can dance both latin and ballroom dances very well. Harry, for example, I think is a really good dancer but I just haven't seen much of a personality from him so I'm not really interested in anything he has to say and I'm never really looking forward to seeing him perform. Chelsee for me though, I'm always looking forward to what she has to say and always enjoy her performances

I actually also like Holly as well. There's something about her cool, laid-back attitude that makes me really like her and I think she is a good dancer. So for me, there needs to be a combination of good dancing and personality because, as others have said, it makes the performance a whole.
