Its down to fact too when you see who GaGa idolised as a her kid, the name says it all

Different types of acts altogether - Lady GaGa is much more like David Bowie. A broadly pop performer of wildly different personas and a flair for visual aesthetic as well as the music itself.

If I had to choose, Queen edge it, even though I like both acts. Queen were rightly regarded as very hit and miss, which is one of the reasons why they were frequently slayed by the critics in their day, but those hits were phenomenal. Also, Queen played the greatest gig ever, so... yeah.

Lady GaGa is certainly building her legend though, and is far from done.

Not in my opinion and none of the songs you've listed are anywhere near as bad as almost every single Gaga has released. Sorry but it's not even a question. And her whole sticking up for the gays thing gets on my nerves, when are they gonna learn, Gaga doesn't care about you.

Anyway here is Queen in action: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eQsM6...eature=related

Gaga doesn't come close

I'm not saying EVERY person under the age of 40/30 would prefer a modern performer, just a majority. Queen get lots of hype but they're dodgy at best for me. Mercury's vocals grind on me. A lot.

Erm... Freddie Mercury and Queen versus Gaga? Queen even beat her at camp never mind music! They invented the pop video.

I'm 20.. so I suppose I'm supposed to say Lady Gaga but nah, I'm sorry... Queen is hands down the winner!

Queen's songs are classic!

It's a bit like saying what's better: being given ten quid or a poke in the eye with a sharp stick...

...Queen, obviously!

I quite like We Are The Champions for its anthemic simplicity, but I do somewhat agree with you. Queen's Greatest Hits compilations are astounding, but I dare say most people, even many of whom call themselves fans, have not worked their way their way through other less than stellar parts of their discography.

As someone who really only listens to classical music I find Queen's music interesting. A lot of it is either structurally or texturally complex and/or melodically inspired, and I derive the same sort of pleasure from it as I do from the works of the great classical composers.

For me, as for a number of fans, it really only starts to go wrong with Hot Space. Most of the albums before then are amazing. I loved Innuendo though and thought it was a real return to form and A Kind of Magic and The Works both have some fantastic songs on them. My least favourite album is The Miracle. It is so bad

My favourite albums are Queen II, Sheer Heart Attack, Night at the Opera and Day at the Races. All four are works of genius.

What do you think of Bach's use of inverted augmented countersubject in the Art of Fugue?

It's one of the greatest displays of invertible counterpoint in music.

By being rude just because somebody has a different opinion, your view automatically becomes redundant to me. Have a nice evening, school on Monday.

Some things shouldn't be allowed to be subjective. Queen vs Gaga is one of them.

Hmmm...an outstanding, operatically trained yet versatile vocalist/songwriter/entertainer of the highest callibre with an amazing range and tone, backed by talented musicians,or a reasonably good singer with some catchy tunes and a bit of originality and showmanship....tough to decide

Seriously,if Ga Ga answered this poll, even she would vote for Queen.

Even Stefani would vote for Freddie herself in this one.
