There are many barometers by which quality is measured. It's not subjective. Whether you like something or not is. You don't have to like something simply because it is generally considered "great". Pink Floyd are generally considered great and I'm not going to argue with that but I would rather slow cook my own brain than listen to most of their stuff.
What has age got to do with it anyway? Why do you assume that everyone who prefers Queen to Gaga is middle-aged or vice versa.
