I haven't forgotten Mark and Karen. Personally I think Harry's command is greater than Mark's, he is sharper, better centered, more in control of his lines, footwork, and his posture is better.

Whilst Len was wildly over the top in his comments I do understand the essence of what he was saying. For the most part it was technically well done (though not always), I found something lacking in it. For me, it felt perfunctory. Whilst Anita's had far more technical 'issues', it had something that Harry and Aliona's lacked imo.

No where near, imo.

It wasn't even the best AT of the night.

Harry & Aliona were good, but I thought Anita & Robin captured the essence and atmosphere of the dance better.

It was good i agree, but not a patch on Mark Ramprakash and Karen Hardy's.

Oddly, I agreed with Len. Aliona was very good, but Harry was just a little too inanimate - I didn't get the sense that he was leading her rather than her trying to make it look like he was.

There have been a few ATs on Strictly now that have (on the technical side) equalled and possibly eclipsed Mark & Karen's iconic dance, but none have come within a parsec of recreating or bettering the mood. The music, the costumes, the acting and the interpretation all came together in a way that few dances in the show have since. If indeed at all.

And much as I love Harry, I felt that Ramps was better at leading his partner. If there's one dance you can get away with not having that perfect, rigid ballroom hold then it's the AT. I agreed with Len: the one single flaw in Harry's dance was that it was just a fraction too clinical.

Hear hear to both. Aliona's outfit so much nicer than Anita's rather clichéd one - Anita's skirt had an unfortunate nappy-like effect.

Mine too. I much preferred Mark & Karen's (and I wasn't even a fan) and Rachel & Vincent's.

Len was totally out of order tonight, just because Aliona has the guts to say she ignores judges comments (At the time it was said it was aimed at Len) he has to always have a dig at them and to give Anita's AT a nine and Harry;s an 8, I think it is time for the men in the white coats to take him away and throw him in a padded cell for his own safety

I agree. Mark and Karen's was much better. Also better were Kara and Artem.

Harry is over-rated and Aliona is too up herself..

Harry definitely wobbled, hesitated and looked wooden at different points in the dance, it was not crisp and immaculate, the 10's were unjustified in my opinion.

It was very good but there is definitely favouritism towards him. He just has to turn up an Alesha gives him a 10, so predictable

I'd be up myself if I looked as hot as Aliona did tonight.

Anita and Robin's AT was better than Harry and Aliona's, let alone better any other decent AT we've seen. Rude as he was tonight, I agreed with Len. In fact, I don't think I've seen as bad an example of over marking since Lisa Snowdon was on the show.

The female does most of the work in the AT and Anita as the celeb in the partnership, wiped the floor with Harry who looked the part, but was stiff and wooden and just stepped into the next position for Aliona to do all the fancy stuff. And his hands were like something from a week one performance.

The best thing about Harry & Aliona's AT was their costumes, which were miles better than Anita & Robin's - but that's down to Wardrobe, not the couples.
