Liked Karen and Ramps more but it was a marvelous effort by Harry and Aliona.

let's not forget the Rachbot and Vinthent - I bloody loved that, technical and brilliant

Ricky Whittle's tango eclipses Harry's.
Why do people always forget about how great Ricky was...<sigh>

I thought it was probably Harry's best dance so far since it actually had more content in for once. I wouldn't have gave it 10's though but I suppose in the context since Alex and Robbie got 8's what more can you give! That's why I agreed with Chelsee getting a 10 too in context! But really everyone is overmarked these days!

I agree with some comments I saw earlier that he could have actually done more gancho's or whatever, not just Aliona doing them. But I think it had the most content of Aliona's routines so far.

Not my favourite argentine tango on the show though!

Len annoys me a lot now too. Sometimes he does have some good comments that I agree with, but if someone doesn't agree with him he has to argue! Just let all the judges have their say and stop interupting and the face on him especially with Craig when he's saying something he doesn't agree with.

Also cause it was the same song it made me think of how much I loved Shawn Johnson & Mark Ballas's more on DWTS. Watching her's back now on youtube love her!

So agree with you. Ricky was slated from the beginning for being so good and getting great marks from week 1.
His AT was amazing I think - he got a standing ovation and some tens I think - he was was an amazing dancer and deserved to win that series.
Hello.

I actually thought the camera shots obscured the dance a little bit on rewatch - we miss a little bit of Harry's leg movement which is a shame. Would have liked a close up.

I thought Harry and Aliona's AT was ok but not brilliant. Harry seemed to spend a lot of time standing still and posing while Aliona danced around him.

There have been several much better ATs over the years - Kara and Artem, Rachel and Vincent, Lisa and Brendan, Ramps and Karen, and I've just re-watched Ricky and Natalie's. It was technically very good, full of content (which Harry and Aliona's wasn't ) and there was real intensity during the dance between Natalie and Ricky, (which again there wasn't between Harry and Aliona).

Agree, it was totally lacking in the necessary intensity and passion.

Indeed it was great. Strange how Ricky has been forgotten by everyone as he was probably the best male dancer ever on Strictly. Kara the best female.

You are so right. He was amazing dancer, but he had a rough ride while on Strictly.

Anita looked like a typical tango beginner (and I know what I'm talking about). It didn't even begin to come close to the level to which Harry danced that dance.

To be honest, I'd forgotten Kara and Artem....

The only thing I can say against Harry is that in some places it lacked a bit fluidity and he placed himself in the next position instead of dancing into it, but I've just looked it back and I hardly notice it now.

The other thing he was accused of was of not making ganchos but he makes them quite a lot but so quick you can hardly see them (which is how it's supposed to be). Amazing footwork!

Going by the standing ovation and some of the scores, I thought I would be the only one who didn't think Harry and Aliona's AT was brilliant. Comparing it with previous AT's such as Kara and Artem for one, it was lacking any passion or feeling and I agreed with Len. in fact although Anita's AT may not have been as good technically, I enjoyed watching it more than Harry's.

For me the best dance of the series so far

It gained 5000 YT views over night

and one of the best AT i've seen on Strictly. Despite it being a popular dance and one I myself love, in all honestly only two celeb/pro AT's have been memorable for me Rachel and Vincent and Mark and Karen.

Im sure many of the others mentioned on here were also good, but I don't remember them particularly well

Really that is most odd because I could have sworn Harry turned up last week and Alesha only gave him an 8

Also, remember that Mark's, Rachel's, Ricky's tango were semifinal dances, which means that they had more dance performances on the belt. That not necessarily means a huge improvement technique wise but certainly better understanding on how to perform a dance.

PS: I always have thought that Mark's was over praised.

i can see your point. It does look lacking in content in comparison to Rachel and Vincent's and even Harry and Aliona's but tbh I personally have never cared about that cause it was danced so brilliantly and created such a great atmosphere.

Harry and Aliona danced brilliantly. It was full of passion and very sexy.

Best AT evah!!! Errr.... perhaps not.

Good though - and not worth Len's petulant outburst. It WAS the perfect dance for Aliona's style of "dance around your partner".

There WAS passion, even if Len is too old to remember what passion was. Perhaps it really was jet-lag!

IKt is worth remembering that Ramp's and Karen's AT was the FIRST time the AT had been seen in competition; Its not part of the usual Ballroom & Latin 10-dance set. It was also the Semifinal, with several more weeks practice and expertise built up.

And of course....

"distance lends enchantment to the view".

^^^^^ Yep

I don't think a guy should be expected to express intensity of emotion in the same way as a woman, if all the people complaining about his performance are comparing him to Anita then I think it is the wrong comparison to make. A bloke doing that would have looked sooo camp!

Harry was FAB!

Harry's AT was the best of the evening, and maybe even the best dance of the series until now together with Chesee's Quickstep.

Indeed. Ramps is used a lot as a reference, but let's not forget there was the lechering Arlene back then who was not averse of giving him high scores for just standing on the dance floor.

Ramps was good, though, and his dances were great, but also not always perfect.

Let's give this year's contestants some credit too. Credit were credit is due, and Harry deserves some for his AY.

I loved it; my favourite dance form the whole series - I just hope choreography wise Aliona keeps going in that direction.
