She's a wonderful dancer, is improving as a choreographer, is listening to the judges' comments and beginning to take them on board. Of tonight's professional dancers, she gave the outstanding performance.

Yes she is a great dancer but just because they had great marks and are top of the leaderboard(which I think was the plan) doesnt not mean that she is finally taking judges comments on board.
I knew this routine was going to be good because the man in the dance doesnt have to do a lot.But Im actually happy that they are finally top of the leaderboard.
Im sure that Jason and Kristina are fuming b/c they thought they would top the leaderboard. So well done to Harry and Aliona.

Best dance of the night for me, but I also enjoyed their dance last week.

She looked unbelievably gorgeous tonight, danced wonderfully and choreographed a wonderful routine.

Len still hates her though, and although it's not as bad as usual there are still people blaming her for whatever they think was lacking about the AT.

BIB ... Not true, the man really has to lead in Argentine Tango - and this is one of the reasons why this dance was so good. The other reason is that The AT is is a lot to do with the woman and Aliona of course very good at this...

I thought the dance had good acting in it.... although it did lack the smouldering passion you see in some Argentine Tangos but this is very difficult for most celebrities to do.

A very good dance though and surprisingly good. Deserved to be top of the leaderboard.

I agree Aliona looked lovely and danced well, but I very much doubt she choreographed that routine. Strictly brings in AT specialists to choreograph them. However, in the same way that the BBC maintains the fiction that the results show happens on a Sunday night , they also have the habit of congratulating the pro dancers for routines they didn't actually choreograph (such as the AT and the Charleston).

Credit where it's due though - it was the dance of the night for me, too.

I thought it was brilliant

The dance of the night for me - by a huge margin

Well done Aliona and Harry

No surprise Aliona danced brilliantly.

But I thought Harry was great, and deserved praise from all 4 judges.

Karen is doing a good critique of Aliona this season...giving praise where it's due....she's saying that Aliona is doing a wonderful job with Harry, and managing to teach him "body positioning" ? because normally pros only have time to do choreography, technique and timing for that week's routine.

Whether or not Harry and Aliona deserved 10s tonight is not the point- for this particular thread anyway - but just a passing comment that after several weeks of us forumers and Len commenting on a lack of content, a contemptful disdain of Aliona's choreography and a consequent fear for Harry's chances in the competition, has Aliona finally found it within herself to produce a non-gimmicky dance for Young Mr Judd? I think so! Long may new, decent Aliona continue to appear on Saturday nights!

Agreed. She needs to showcase him more and cut down on her own thrashing about.

Another thread about Aliona There is already one similar to this one"Praise for Aliona". So why do we need another one

That is how it should be. Criticism when justified and constructive. Praise where it's due.

Last night I could only praise Aliona for that dance, I thought it was great

Yes, an excellent dance. Don't they get a specialist to choreograph the AT though?

But - whatever - a commanding performance by Harry.

I thought the AT is choreographed by external people

Please anyone do correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm under the impression that yes, AT and Salsa are choreographed by external specialists.

(Nonetheless I did like Harry's AT )

We don't see enough of actual training (laughable idea - who'd want to) to know much about the choreography. But I'm still sure AT demands a specialist.

She stole the show tonight. Spectacular dancing from Aliona which put Harry in the shade, perhaps too much.

I was very happy she didn't make harry do laps around the arena like others.

Aliona is the most fabulous dancer, but I thought Harry was great as well!!
