Why in X Factor are we never told the number of votes cast?
I remember a few years ago in the 'Song for Europe' programmes when viewers were choosing the UK entry for the Eurovision Song Contest, that the presenter used to read out each individual performer's number of votes, so in these days of 'broadcasting honesty' why don't they do exactly the same thing, and give us the scores, especially as the viewers pay thousands of pounds for the calls!!! We don't even get the percentages so just how honest/open is this voting malarkey?

they are usually released after the show ends. However, after last year were Wagner was twice in the bottom two of phone votes but didn't go into the sing off.... I doubt they will want to again.

Why can't we be told the number of votes every week, especially as it's computerised and needs little effort by the powers-that-be?
I would love to see the performers' positions as the programme progresses, not after it has ended?! |

because it would lead to manipulation of the competition for betting/malicious purposes
all the results, percentages and counts are released after the competition so theres no deception. Its just fairer to withhold that information while the competition is in progress |

I don't think we are ever told numbers on individual shows only percentages. My theory is that in the earlier shows the numbers are extremely low, and only after the audience has bought in to the contestants does the numbers rise. This could also explain why we get freak results earlier on. They don'twant to give these numbers because it would show the xfactor starts weakly.

The phone votes are probably irrelevant.
