Hi sorry, I intended to post this straight after viewing the show on Sunday Night (Saturday's show repeated I believe - the one with the vocal coach and the gobby twins on it). I didn't realise it would take quite so long for my account to be Validated for posting.

Anyway, to the reason I'm here - there was a song used as background music during the show. I think it was used somewhere else in a TV program too, it's very catchy, but I'm afraid I can't now be more specific about how it went or whereabouts in the show it appeared.

A long shot I know, but I hope someone can help me track down this piece of music

The only song I can remember hearing is 'Hot Stuff' by Donna Summer - it was made popular again a few years ago after it featured on the soundtrack to 'The Full Monty'.

This link will take you to the soundtrack, where you can hear a clip of it. http://www2.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/display...;-1&sku=873402

reply appreciated - but it is definately not donna summer's hot stuff

This is a recent song - very dance music orientated.

Not a classic 70's Disco Anthem.

That song was called "Call on me" by Eric Prydz.

unfortunately, wasn't that one either - the clip used in the show didn't have any lyrics - I'm not sure whether the whole song does or doesn't. Any one have this ep captured or anything - could maybe make clips of the background music used?

hope we can find this song

I've heard Nightmare by Brainbug used on TV very recently, and that doesn't have any lyrics. I can't be sure that it was on the X Factor though.

They used 'play dead' by Bjork in lasts week's show as well.

They use that piece of music on tv quite alot, that might be it.

definately not that - much more upbeat, dancey, and no lyrics - definately not in the piece played - not sure there are any in the whole song - the song was what I call "squidgy bass" sounding.

Anybody got a vidcap of the prog or anything?

The background music they played at one point was from Kill Bill if thats the one you're after. It's the song that plays when Lucy Liu and her Crazy 88s go to the restaurant.

hi louison - I've not seen the film - but I'm now listening to the soundtrack - you're thinking of the track called "battle without honour or humanity "- by tomoyasu hotei aren't you - it's the one with the "big orchestral stings" in it and drums - that's the song that comes after the trumpet/cornet jazzy number - and a while before the woohoo song - I seem to recognise that song - pretty sure from a "judges intro" scene - like where the judges are shown entering the room all dramatic - with the stings - dum, dum DUM if you get me.

I seem to recall that the piece I wanted was used over contestant intros - or as a filler while scanning the audtion rooms - but it was a catchy dancey "bouncy" bass track - sorry I'm repeating myself there I know.
