Ooh lol Been ages since a good discussion thread about Adam on DS. I am one of those rabid Adam Lambert fans that peeps have been referring to & I thought Amelia was pretty good &, had I not heard Adam last week, I too would have been raving about her performance.

What we have to do is put things in perspective - Amelia is 16 years old & put in a 1/2 decent performance. Adam is now 29 & has been singing in musical theatre, shows for years before he went on American Idol. His vocal range is amazing & so are his performance skills. Amelia cannot compete with that & nor should she have to.

I looked on Amelia's timeline & could see no hate - some people commented on their own Twitter, as I have done, that it was a shame that it would draw obvious comparisons.

That being said, there is no excuse for the Adam bashing here - I accept that he is like marmite for many, but there is no doubting his vocal ability. I was lucky enough to see him live at 3 out of the 4 sold out UK shows last year & he is even more amazing live.

Taste is purely subjective. Quality isn't. You can say that you don't like him, he's not to your taste, etc, but to query his talent is beyond absurd.

Thanks Im a new-ish convert to the Lambert - I heard him first through this forum in fact. Bought his album at the beginning of the year, and the infection is spreading because everyone I play it around seems to like him too.

Not at all angry and at 6' 2" tall not little either. I just tire of people who get a strop on when people disagree with their taste in music, art, fashion,etc. etc. We're not all alike thank God. I don't 'hate' this Lambert boy, hate is a big word that's used too liberally and it's one that I reserve for terrorists, rapists, muggers etc. etc. not entertainers.

I fully agree with this. Adam can sing and trying to deny him or any other very capable singer the recognition they deserve on that count, can make one look a bit foolish.

I love his album .... it's one that I've never tired of which is unusual as no matter how much I like someone there are moments when I put the CD away for a few months

I think he's one of those polarising singers who will have his lovers and his detractors ... I guess that's better than people not talking about you at all
