I liked Anita & Robin's AT

OK, not quite in the same league as Karen and Ramps, Artem & Kara or Harry & Aliona, but it had a lot of steps, a lot of movement and a lot of sizzle.

It was far more exciting than Ally Bastian's or Lisa Snowden's. It's just bad luck that Anita had to dance her AT on the same night as Harry's.

But, as they say on the other side of the millpond, Anita & Robin "did a good job".

Jeeze! I did it the split second I saw the post up and realised what I'd done - but my lap top is so slow! I'll get panned, but it really was a stupid mistake, and a stupid addition! it's 02.05 am here, going to bed now. 'Night

Judging by the number of views to the thread, I think I might have been the only one to have seen it at the time, and I already knew. Don't worry about it!

To me, dancing is as much about performance as it is about the steps.

What Anita lacks in technique, she makes up for by capturing the flavour of the dance. And this makes for a more engaging and enjoyable routine. I believe whatever character she assumes and there's strong interplay between her and Robin.

I thought Anita had more work to do in her Argentine Tango as well, because the focus in this dance is on the woman. And she acquitted herself well. Her best dance yet.

In terms of the two ATs last night, I preferred Anita's, as she acts as she dances, although her dancing still has some technical flaws. Harry has technique, but does not have the acting skills, which is why some feel he comes off as bland. Perhaps he should have an acting class to be more demonstrative.

I also preferred Anita's tango. Her acting ability really brought the dance to life and had me hooked all the way through.

For me this was her best dance of the series. Not perfect but she captured the mood of the tango quite beautifully. And dare I say it, there were times when I thought it was Robin who looked ever so slightly ropey ...

It was Anita & Robin's best dance so far. Her being an actress was a big advantage tonght.
I really liked it.

I thought the choreography was excellent, well done to Robin, and well done to both Robin and Anita for a brilliant Argentine tango.

Just catching up with the dances now.

Anita had a very good night - she looked and danced fierce. There was a great characterisation and it was captivating. Some of her turns were a little stutter-and-start. But very good overall, I am not anti-Anita

I think that's a good idea actually. It worked for Gethin (who Harry reminds me a lot of). It would just take him to the next level.

I preferred Anita's AT. Harry seemed uninvolved somehow. He did all the steps but there was no soul in his dancing. Anita's dance wasn't flawless but she drew this viewer into the dance.

I liked it too and I think I liked it better than Harry and Aliona's too because it was slower and they had more space to build up the intensity of it. I think Harry and Aliona's is one of the best dances I've seen her choreograph because it had no tricks or backflips and also used really good music but I wasn't blown away by it as so many others were.

Right from the opening when Anita's legs were in spotlight, looking incredibly sexy, their dance was captivating, and IMO the best AT of the night, and definitely her best dance of the series.

Infact I would say it was more authentic for an AT, which you could imagine being danced by a mature woman in a bar in Argentina with a younger lover. Perfect interpretation and characterisation.

I loved that routine It might not have been as technically perfect as H & A's but I thought Anita did really well with it (and if anything, deserved at least another mark - imo it was a bit better than J & K's VW) and Robin's choreography really showed her off, good job that man!

As I've said on another thread, I really want Robin to get a younger/more able partner next year as I think he is underrated as a choreographer - he got Patsy to 6th in his first year and I think Anita could go just as far providing she has enough of a fanbase to do so.

(I do love them both, they're one of my favourite couples along with H&A and C&P)

Shes could do with pointing her toes and I'm sick of having the fact shes 62 rammed down my throat every week. I know shes 62 she looks it, but there's no need to keep on and on about it. She does her dances with gusto and has a good old go, but shes annoying me with all the eye fluttering gushing gratitude for any good critique she gets at the end. Shes' a bit of fun but I don't think shes going to last many more weeks.

Totally agree Tenchgirl, especially the too much self afacement and eye fluttering, was saying this to my hubby last night, but i do like her.

I agree. I think that the reason I preferred it was because the celeb had to do all the work, and tbh it's the celeb I'm looking at. Yes Harry and Aliona's was well executed, but because the nature of the dance is that the woman grabs all the attention, to me I found Anita and Robin's more entertaining.

I do think in certain dances, it is hard to make a fair comparison between a female and male celeb, as the roles are so very different. The AT is a prime example.

I don't think Harry actually did that much in his AT. Aliona just seemed to dance around him. Anita had more of a chance to show off her dancing chops and she was pretty great - she has great legs.

Last night was the first time I voted this series - twice for Anita. I loved the sheer drama of the routine and I love that she is so surprised when people value her work. She's amazing!

Sorry, it didn't do anything for me.
I actually laughed a couple of times at the faces Anita was pulling..never a good sign when someone is atttempting to look passionate and seductive.
To be fair, the wardrobe department (again) did them no favours..what was Robin's red trilby and braces all about ?
I'm sure that it was good technically, but as a complete package, visually it was lacking..in my opinion.

Way overmarked. Way over acted. Too untidy, esp. the lifts which again looked clumsy and resulted (yet again )with her legs akimbo. Very cringy with the leg rubbing bit.
So no not my cup of tea at all.
