Just watched it on ITVs repeat show. Gary Barlow was spot on with his comments. She's just sinking for me and she needs a rubber ring of a decent song and performance to rescue her.

Anyone who knows anything about MUSIC (I mean is musically trained) will apreciate her version of the Queen song 'Somebody to Love' -it was fabulous -magical, moving, haunting -most importantly, original! I'm fed up with people on this show who SOUND like someone else -surely the X Factor is about finding someone wih NEW talent and she has that. No matter what happens, Janet Devlin will end up on the world stage.

No, not after watching the repeat again.

Unless the OP's definition of "Beautiful" = a cure for insomnia.

I'm not musically trained to a high standard. I can however tickle the ivories to quite a pleasing sound at times. I may not know the intricacies or the ins and outs of music but to my ears she sounds awful.

If you have to be musically trained etc to appreciate her music she could well end up on a world stage but I fear to quite an empty auditorium.

I am not musically trained but I can tell the arrangement of the song was too bloody slow (I know it was done as a ballad), she often missed/lost the tune of the song and the song never really went anywhere,

Watched it again, and I still liked it.

Musical tastes vary, which is one reason why there are so many different types and styles of music out there. Each to their own.

Yes make the song your own but at least respect the original in some way.

With that arrangement I think even I could make a stab at performing it. It was very watered down version of song that doesn't let you breathe and Janet could only dream of hitting that high note.

At least Kitty respected the original, it wasn't perfect and I think it didn't work changing Mr Fahrenheit to Mrs Farenheit, Don't stop me now is very energetic and it didn't flow very well into the next word.

But it defintely beats Olly Murs terrible rendition a couple of years ago.

I wasnt sure if it was Mistress or Mrs. Farenheit?

I hated it. Janet has a certain amount of potential but at the moment a very limited range, tendancy to go out of tune and awful diction and too many affectations to make it an enjoyable listen.

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with her being a one trick pony but within the context of X Factor it sets her back as she needs to perform within all the stupid themes.

For me she was the worst last night and has been bottom 2 for the last couple of weeks.

Trained singer and musician (piano and flute). Hated it.

Ahhh, the standard defense used by Janet fans to excuse her poor performances

To be fair, she wasn't bad by any means this week, but was utterly forgettable. Plus, every remaining act in the competition bettered her vocally and performance-wise, and some made her look downright amateurish (Misha, Kitty, Amelia, Marcus).

I don't see her on a world stage anytime soon. She might keep a full calendar working local gigs in Ireland, but I don't see her becoming a cross-over international (or even UK) star.

Let's just say I was happy... once she had screeched to halt.
