But how do we know that any of these would have been more popular than Amelia? Better just carry on without Frankie than bring back a contestant already voted off.

Then if we believe that then all four contestants were all back in, as all four had their "back in " pages accidentally uploaded by STV.

Yeah, that would have been the best bet. But they would have had to cut a few ad breaks if they're minus one contestant and my goodness, they love those breaks!

I put that one in quotes because it was a flimsy argument. There's room for arguing that Kelly said Amelia was in because she was a front-runner and Amelia's dad said the same for the same reason. It is a little fishy, but I prefer Sherlock Holmes to these kind of mysteries.

No I don't think it does really. People haven't been taking XF seriously as a music talent show for years, yet it still gets millions of viewers each week. That will continue regardless of whether Amelia wins this year or not.
