Is anyone really surprised by this?

No, journo's usually type up draft stories and then put up the correct one if or when it occurs.

The Mirror and The Sun should know this.

But an hour before? Dodgy! Believe me, I don't normally take much notice of the tabloids, but the post was seen by a few people, long before the vote officially closed.

that's not what's in question though as we all know they'd probably prepared an article for all of the four acts .. the problem is that they actually posted the one about Amelia

Yup sometimes an hour before they usually do it to make sure the server is functional.

Well if she got 48 percent of the vote it would of been obvious even then that she was coming back

The editor of the Sunday Mirror tweeted that they had sent off a new front page to the printers - that was while Xtra was on, so it's literally a half baked theory based upon an hour of web confusion. The likelihood is that they would have drafted several stories, one for each winner, and someone accidentally published Amelia's while testing the page for the website.... and now I've saved you a pound.

D'oh! It's seems my thread is a bit of a non story😱

Ah the whole thing is just not sitting right with me. I think they were always going to get her back in, by whatever means necessary. That performance tonight was not thrown together in a matter of days. She's been rehearsing that for quite some time.

It's still on the front page of their website though, so they can't be that fussed:

Actually, a page for each contestant was published on the STV site - there were screen caps on the forum, before STV took them down.

How convenient that the Mirror claim "However there was no obvious record of the other three stories being online at the time". Well that is total lies, because there was 3 other pages, one for each of the other acts and I looked at all 4, as did a number of other people who posted on DS.
These pages are all prepared before hand so that when the result is announced the correct page can be made live as quickly as possible.
STV blamed the fact that the pages were visible on a technical hitch, well it wasn't that, it was incompetence by the person who should have checked they had the correct protection on the pages so they wouldn't be visible to the public.

I saw two of them, Amelia and 2 Shoes, didn't bother to look at the others, they were posted on here. It was an editorial error, in the sense that whoever was writing the announcements for each act screwed up on their publishing settings.

So basically their front page and this thread is BS.

Of course those pages are not there now.
Nor by the way did Kelly jump to her feet screaming as the "draft" article stated.

Here is a link to STV's apology for the cock-up.

Of course it's fixed... But not that way... They do it by putting their favourites late in the running order.
Everyone knew on Friday that Amelia was so far ahead, in online polls, that she was the one coming back.

There's an interesting first comment on the Sundays Mirror's page for that item, if it doesn't get deleted

You don't want to believe everything you read in the Mirror, neither, if not especially, the comments section.

mirror is as bad as the sun and the daily star now, only it doesn't publish half naked women.

Did I say I believed everything in the Mirror, No. In fact there is more than one post on DS from me recently criticising the very point that too many people do believe such rubbish. If you read the article, the comment and the posts linked here you'll see where the truth is - not in the mirror article, the comment is true. Did you even read it?

Yes, they don't need to actually fix votes.
They had a pretty good idea how the vote would go.

Of course its a fix. They even gave amelia the final spot to give her a boost. She really needs to go this week as she was pretty poor again. Probably on slightly better than Misha and level with Craig. As far as I'm concerned the winner of X-factor will be whoever of the proper final six comes highest regardless of where Amelia places.

I am always amused by posts that begin with the words 'of course', which seem to suggest that the poster has a degree of insight denied to the rest of us. That may be true, of course, and I would hesitate to denigrate anyone.

On the other hand, these same people rarely back their opinions up with evidence and almost invariably state them as if they were facts.
