Well I voted for James after the show opened so I hope it wasn't decided before.

I agree they could see how the vote was going but in theory if she was on about 48% of the vote at that stage one of the others (Craig?) could have also been on 40% or over as I really can't see Two shoes or Jonjo getting that many votes.

I think it was very obvious Ameilia was clearly going to win at that stage.

i thought the way they announced her as the winner was strange

in that they didnt get all 4 finalists on stage, instead they just had amelia revealed from behind the screen

they purposefully must have changed the scenario to prove that the premature article was nonsense

Amelia looked stunned? Kelly jumps to her feet? neither thing happened.

I assume they had to tell Amelia before hand so she could prepare (i.e. get miced up, etc) for the performance.

Not read the previous messages but as well as the Mirror, the Mail is running the Amelia 'fix story' too

Oh dear, looks like there's going to be yet another OFCOM investigation and people are going to be demanding their money back

Agreed. I mean come on? Amelia V Two Shoes, Jonjo, James - who of these four's dismissals caused the most outrage? Amelia - it was obvious given the choice that it was Amelia coming back (she should never have gone in the first place).

All of this 'fix factor' re the votes is distracting from the fact that the whole scenario which led to it was a mid-series publicity stunt.

I don't care how she's back in the competition - if the makers hadn't farted around with fancy (ridiculous) stunts like this she'd still be there anyway.

On another note - how fantastic is Amelia - she's had no 'expert mentoring' for the last five weeks and she's still leagues ahead of those who have had that benefit!

At least they don't let the facts get in the way of a 'good' story. If most people here accepted that all acts had articles written NOT just Amelia, then why can't the DM etc.

Esp. since the DM got their hand slapped for publishing an article in advance recently. W***kers!

I think someone at the Mirror didn't want Amelia to win the public vote.

I say sour grapes

To be fair though - she had 48% of the votes. bookies pay out before competitions finish if the result is seen as already safe.

Its possible she had some any votes compared to the others that even if everyone voted for the next favourite in the hour left - the system they use wouldnt be able to handle the votes it would take in that time.

If it was closer I think the fix claims may have been valid - but she was so far ahead of the others I dont see an issue this time.

She was way better than Janet and kitty though so ??

Whoever came back HAD to go last as well - or they couldnt keep the voting going through the show. that bit was NOt a fix.

Isn't this the equivalent of the Mail posting that AmandaKnox had lost her appeal? It's just a cock up, not a fix

Of course there was a point in the series when producers wanted Amelia back. No one will ever know when. Certainly behind the scenes they have been working on getting her back. Amelia has been to most of the live shows, was hanging out at the house and gigging. When does this ever happen to an act that is booted off.

Um, they all do that.

Even acts who didn't make the live shows (John Wilding, Melanie McCabe) have been there a few times.

Draft up stories? It was a couple of lines. It wouldn't have taken them more than a minute to type after the announcement. There was no need for it to be drafted in advance.
