Amelia Lilly vs Janet Devlin - Renditions of Adele Someone like you
Amelia's - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=txPO1...eature=related
Janet's - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KVatQ...eature=related Although still weak, Janet's voice is actually suprisingly good in patches for me.

I don't really like covers of this song, because I don't think anybody can really get it like Adele does. For what it's worth, I'd say they're both better than Jade, and I prefer Janet's to Amelia's. Janet's sounds more distinctive from Adele you see. Well done to Amelia for taking on the high notes in the chorus however. Not even Adele does that live.

I have to go with Amelia simply because I have never liked Janet's voice.

Shut your eyes and imagine your listening to a new song on the radio. Amelia or Janet? Like her or not you will alway's know its Janet. Amelia is a good singer whilst is not distinctive, but could be more visually entertaining than Janet. Janet given some good material will produce one landmark album then fade away.

I like both.
Janet is better on this clip than she is in the show. ![]() Kelly Rowland is a poor mentor. |

Janet's, without question.
Janet's is very distinctive. Amelia's is rather generic. |

Janet sounds better in that clip than she does on the show, she's much more in control of her voice.

Janet by a country mile.
Janet or Amelia to go tonight. Although Misha was as bad as Janet last night she has shown great potential over ther course of the series unlike Janet. Amelia shouldn't even be here and doe not deserve to win. If she does then I will consider the second place contestant the true winner of the X-Factor and not some one who jumped into the show as the finals were approaching so she'd have a better chance. |

Amelia by miles, it's too big a song for Janet - though she does do a great job and it's better than practically all her show performances.

Janet's by miles. I can't even guarantee I'd recognise Amelia's voice on the radio.

No contest.
Amelia Lily. Once again Janet sounds like an 8 year old in a school concert. Very endearing in an 'awwwww, isn't that sweet' kind of way but actually it's rubbish unless she was actually an 8 year old in a school concert. |

Janet is clearly far better. Anyone who says otherwise is simply carrying old prejudices with them.

I'm not a great fan of Janet's voice but on this occasion I think she does something more interesting with the material and isn't just an Adele clone. Amelia's left me feeling a bit blah.

Amelias was technically better, Janets had her own thing going on.
Amelias was the better performance though, by quite a bit. |

Blind test Amelia could have been anyone singing it reasonably well. Janets? that was definitely Janet. Marcus has a similar problem good visual entertainer, but voice wise good but could be anybody.
If I heard Janet's version Id know it was Janet - and turn it off. If I heard Amelia's I maybe wouldn't know who it was (yet -- that may come) but Id keep listening. |

Okay people own up. How many of you clicked your favourite without even listening to the clips?
![]() Note: I had already heard both because I put them on a different thread myself yesterday. |

I've listened to both, and Amelia's rendition is far better!
![]() It's easy to say that but I can't find any measure that makes her better (except possibly that her bed has a nice frame) |
