X Factor has seriously lost it's way
If I was the other contestants I would have refused to sing if they brought back someone who hasn't been in the competition from the beginning.
If they had brought back Johnny it would have been fair, but someone totally new who hasn't gone through what they have weeks and weeks of strenuous practising and live shows has really taken their toll. Then X Factor bring in fresh faces and the others have to sit and listen to how they've been here and there doing G-A-Y performances and having a blast... but hey now they've got the chance to come back fresh faced and bushy tailed and win the show, just couldn't get any better. X Factor is getting far too desperate and it's embarassing! |

I agree OP, as good as Amelia was and I would have put her in over Janet or Sophie I think it was unfair on Jonny, I think if The Risk had gone last week in the same way Jonny went they would have been brought back.
To give someone a free pass half way through is a bit desperate. As good as some of them are I don't think they have a star amoung them. It has become a musical version of BB, complete with the booing. |

This isn't fair on Amelia, as she will probably get so much hostility. If the contestants think this is tough, then wait until they leave the competition and see how the muisc industry is. That is a tough world, and not what they have now. If they can't hack it, then best to leave now. |

Otherwise, you make a fair point. Oh, you are the one with the dodgy grammar by the way. It's is short for it is, and that was correct. |

The argument is certainly a fair one, but I suppose the programme will benefit from the shot in the arm that Amelia's return has delivered.

People still moan about that?
Bringing Johnny back wouldn't have been fair cause he has nothing to do with Frankie, he had his shot and the public didn't like him. It would only have been fair if he where in the bottom 2 with Frankie and lost out directly to him, then I could understand it. These 4 didn't have a shot and get one now. Not having gone through half of the show is not just an advantage is more a disadvantage because the returning act now has to start on the bottom to gain fans when the others already have their crowd. It speaks for Amelia's talent that so many people still remember and like her after all this time. Having her winning it is the perfect ending to a horrible, horrible X-factor season. |

If Amelia wins I would just then fair play to her because it IS the public that vote. I just think that is getting more and more like Big Brother; do you think they might bring in someone new later on? Johnny or the Risk perhaps?... you never know ![]() I just read as well that they were still asking people to vote even when the person to come had already been announced

Ok then, maybe it should have been a direct replacement with James then as he was in that category.
On the other hand I think they wanted the public to vote so they feel more attached to the one coming back. If they would have just said James comes back he probably would have left again on Sunday straight away and then where is the point? Amelia now has more or less the same chances as everyone else. |

I agree that would have made the most sense given that Gary is now one boy short (not that I'm sorry for him but in general it would be more fair).

I don't think it's entirely cricket of the producers to bring back an act, give them an automatic tour place, and then set them up to win the show, and I hope that's not what's happening here. |

Actually wouldn't that have been very interesting.............. if all the contestants point blank refused to sing if someone was given a free pass to compete half way through the series. !!!!!!
What would they have done. There is nothing they could threaten them with, the show would have to go on......... would the producers have caved in and scrapped it ! |

As long as I can understand posts I don't really care about spelling and punctuation. This is an informal forum after all. I gave up on how 'definitely' was spelt/misused ages ago (people are so drawn to it being 'definately' for some odd reason).
