I am in shock

Well to be honest, based on performance in the first show alone, Sophie was the better singer. I believe that in the first show all the judges made the right choice based on performance in that show. Even Gary by choosing Frankie over James (the Only week that Frankie wasn't the worst.)

And last nights show proved that Amelia wasn't the singer many of you had believed she was. Admitedly she was the best in Kelly's group but Little Mix, Kitty and Marcus were far in front of her and she was ony on par with Janet and Craig. Who both had poor nights in my opinion.

To be fair Amelia was pants on that night, I thought Sophie was better; she never seemed to find her feet enough, was sad to see her go.

Amelia was great last night though.

I have a feeling the producers intervened too.

Really, I recall being shocked that Sophie (and maybe even Misha) had made it past the Judges Houses though, because we'd heard so little of (and from) them. Whereas Amelia had been very prominently featured in the non-live show VTs and interviews.

I think it was already decided who was going through before hand.

Plus Amelia was given an awful song, written for a male voice in totally the wrong key. Even Micsha would have struggled with that song.

Kelly appears to have some problem with Amelia.

.It really hasn't mattered really since Sophie crashed out, I think a point was made a long time ago. It doesn't need to be said, its just there to be seen and felt.......


Let's call it a day, it doesn't really matter now does it, its almost a clean slate now, its all up to Amelia now, to break or make herself........

In the first week none of the girls were in the bottom 4 performances and Misha was the only one for me who was 100% safe. Amelia was definitely my favourite from the audition stages but her first performance was weak. Sophie exceeded expectations in week one that she didn't do again unfortunately. Had I been the mentor I'd have sent Janet home as I felt she was the weakest but she appears to be untouchable. So between Amelia and Sophie I think Kelly acted honestly and sent home the weaker performance from the night.

I wasn't blown away by Amelia last night - shouting in places, dodgy tuning and I was picking up some major attitude from her as well (although this may be my imagination having read her interviews after being booted off). Giving her the benefit of the doubt, I think we need to remember she's 17 and this is a HUGE deal.

I think she was in part swayed by Gary, who said to her 'If this girl is not here next week you and me are going to fall out' or words to that effect.

It was in part due to Misha being preferred over Jade for the up tempo/Adele type songs and the fact that Kelly wanted different types of singers in her final three.

That and the fact that Amelia was flat and looked out of her comfort zone as a rock chick in week one was why Sophie went through to week two.

Because Sophie was better on the night fact!

Sophie was obviously a better overall act. And so what if Amelia is a better singer? Amelia is probably better at singing than most iconic artists, doesn't mean she's actually better. I hadn't seen anything prior to the live show, and was bored to death by Amelia. Totally forgettable, I knew she was leaving.

Not really.

Unless you like people who sing out of tune and look incredibly uncomfortable... Which is exactly what Amelia was.

Sophie, technically, did give the better performance, regardless of who you like the most.

Sophie had SUCH an easy song to do in week 1. Amelia's was much harder but i don't think Kelly took that into consideration when judging the performances.

Arguably, Misha is a better vocalist than that of Amelia and in my opinion, Sophie is more appealing and genuinely more pleasant to listen to. However, I would have certainly had Amelia in the top three over Janet.

Everyone on here was saying that the girls category was the hardest to call in the first week. I felt Janet should have gone but remember being very much in the minority. Amelia was the worst performance of the girls on the night, but I was taking into account the fact that she was the very first contestant to sing on the very first live show (there's no way nerves wouldn't have factored more for her!) singing a song that didn't really suit her while Janet was doing the same as we'd already seen her do and sounded exactly like The Claw. I think most people were saying that they would have hated to be in Kelly's shoes but that it should be Amelia that went.

Janet and Misha were shoo in's that night so Kelly had to make a choice between the other two. I'm not a fan of either but I was slightly surprised she picked Sophie but she seemed to see something special in her.

Its a fact she gave the best performance of the night and Amelia gave a woeful performance of Billie Jean, hence Kelly sending her home which was the right decision.

I preferred Sophie to Amelia and still do. Sophie is much more in tune with what I like to listen to and I would buy her album over Amelia's, Janet's or Misha's any day. Misha would have to come up with some truly original material for me to buy her stuff-- even more "out there" than Janelle Monae who I adore. Still think Misha is the best vocalist and best performer out of the remaining girls. I like her work ethic.

It's true - and if Sophie and Amelia had had each others songs Sophie would have been sent home.

But I find it hard to believe that with all the work the producers had put into selecting contestants they just gave them all random songs with no thought as to what suited who, and just left it to the judges to choose the best from that one night. That would have been incredible amateurish.

That twist was set up to strategically make some singers look bad so they could get rid of them. If Amelia had faced public vote from week one I have no doubt that she would still be in the competition at this point. It's just weird.

How many times does this have to be explained!!

It wasn't that Kelly had to chose between Amelia and Sophie- Kelly also chose Misha and Janet over Amelia.

And going out early has never been indicative of lack of singing talent (quite the opposite, in fact)

Take a look back at the moment Kelly voted Amelia off the show. She stumbles as she says 'So-phie' to stay. I think she made a mistake and said the wrong name on LIVE TV. Too late to take it back, she sent Amelia home.
