But even if you dislike the act, you’ll agree that they all have good weeks and bad. Gary on the other hand, seems to just gets it in his head that he doesn’t like you and that’s it. Gary wants versatility. Clearly he’s ever been in the audience at a Take That concert? Don’t get me wrong, I quite like Take That; but they have a style that they follow over and over again; it works. From Gary’s comments, Kate Bush would have never got past Boot Camp and U2 would be voted off during Hip-Hop theme week. Although you could make an argument for Tulisa, the rest of the panel are involved in Pop; that’s what they know and understand. It should be called the Bland Factor as the ‘X’ is actively discouraged. Want to find real ‘X’ factor acts, ditch the Themes and the telling acts what they can and can’t sing; that’s for the public.

Maybe Gary has access to the % of the vote figures and is trying to play silly mind games with vulnerable young people. I mean, when you have two really bad weeks, culminating in forgetting your words and yet they aren’t even in the bottom three, he has to worry about his acts.

To be honest, I think Janet’s in trouble this week. Amelia was the worst possible choice for Janet as she’s liable to take votes off her support base. I think Janet should accept that on current performances she’s unlikely to win, tell Kelly that Beyonce really was Destiny’s Child and she’s a backing singer and go back to the Auditions and Boot Camp where she really was a breath of fresh air. Her YouTube page has far better songs on it than the one’s she’s had on the X Factor.

Gary has no issue with Janet just as he has no issues with Little Mix, he is being tactical. It is what Simon would do attack the biggest competition o help his acts. Craig is boring, Marcus is getting predictable yet he praises them as if they were John Lennon. Janet is an easy target because she is not very versatile and Kelly needs to start defending her better.

Janet is the definition of one-dimensional. I didn't think Little Mix deserved the criticism last night but I can't argue with what he said about Janet.

That is simply because you are blinded by your own bias. I like Janet but am not particularly a fan of Little Mix. However I am objective enough to see that Barlow is playing exactly the same 'undermining' game with both of them.

Once Simon got to this stage, he would tend to get supportive as he knew he'd have to work with them if the public voted them as winners.

I just find Gary's choice of attack; i.e. first Johnny and now Janet as leaving a bad taste in the mouth. Of course it might be tactical; but there are ways and means which Simon was far better at.

He is finally seeing what a lot of people are seeing - she is an average singer with not a lot of potential to be anything other than a niche singer. She hasnt got the wow factor. The live shows, I believe, have exposed her. I personally reckon she was always the weakest of the 4 Kelly selected.

And, finally, last night I think he admitted it. Even Tulisa is now appearing to concede that she is a one trick pony, and her mentor, Kelly, was not gushing either last night.

I think it is the end of the line for Janet, and she will go either this week or next week.

Agree with your last comment. However, this is meant to be the 'X' Factor. Yes, Misha's a brilliant singer as is Craig and in population terms they're rare. But I bet I could find 50 Misha's and 70 Craig's in the States.

For me, it's no different than business. It's a tough industry and you need a USP (Unique Selling Point). I don't feel they do.

Finally, as I said before, there have been some very successful one-trick ponies; it's called having an X Factor ... what a strange coincidence!!

Unfortunately she has no USP except a bad voice and there is nothing unique in that in this series at least.

Poor performance, poor technique and worst of all, just dull.

Actually, he was just hopping on the bandwagon after Tulisa started the process.

You can see Tulisa has an ongoing agenda. She's been the "initiator" of most of these incidents with sneaky attack tactics (often contradicting her own previous advice), and then another judge "hops on" and follows. Gary hopped on to her sandbagging of Janet, just like Kelly hopped on to Tulisa's sandbagging of Marcus.

Tulisa is the common thread. And I bet if we keep watching we'll see that it happens again.

Shes not close to being a fantastic singer. She hasnt sung one song yet where she hasnt been sharp in the low register, shes forgotten words, shes looked lost on stage at times, and has no on stage charisma. shes all sweet little girl off stage, and her voice does convey emotion at times (ballads).

She has a reasonable voice at best that needs a lot of developing. The ones that are blinded are those that see the few good things but ignore the blatantly bad ones.

Actually, most one trick ponies that have a successful career do so because they write there own material and are better at that than actually singing.

I dont know if Janet writes, or how good her material is if she does.. but shes not close to good enough to have a solo career of any note as just a singer.

Quite simply he is there to knock other artists, but promote his own.

Gary is quite transparently trying to torpedo every act other than his own. He finished off Nu Vibe, Sami, Sophie, Johnny. Now he has it in for Janet and Kitty and is warming up with Little Mix. No doubt Misha and Amelia will be next

Re your comment about the USA - how many of the winners or participants of these shows cross-over anyway?

Off the top of my head I can think of only Kelly Clarkson and Susan Boyle from BGT. Leona Lewis crossed-over for 1 single and 1 album and then nothing.

Apart from his acts Marcus and Craig - Janet is the only person who hasn't yet been bottom 2. He probably sees her as the biggest threat - although after last night Amelia Lily has to be a contender!

Janet has a lot of support - which is why Gary wants to knock her down as he wants Craig or Marcus to win! As for Gary describing anyone as dull - well great singer and songwriter but he is hardly exciting himself!

Gary said what our household was thinking about Janet's performance, so no big mystery there.

He is just getting as bored with the as a lot of other people. Last night was dire.

I can't stand Gary Barlow on this show but last night he said what needed to be said (as Louis did about Frankie last week). Janet has been little more than average on most occasions but she was painfully bad last night and last week. I think he should have chosen his words a tiny bit more wisely (using the word boring when he has Craig is a bit silly) but she was clearly awful.

She's safe though - I doubt she'll be in the bottom two.
