Unfortunately she has no USP except a bad voice and there is nothing unique in that in this series at least.

Poor performance, poor technique and worst of all, just dull.

Your definition of the X Factor is somewhat strange.

Looking forward to your 58th post
My definition of the X Factor is 'a noteworthy special talent or quality' as per most dictionaries. The 'X Factor' TV show is more about finding someone who sounds exactly like everyone else in the Charts; which is not how the producers try to portray the show nor the definition.

I was expecting your appearance at some point.

It's week six, it's not just Gary who is finding Janet tedious now. If Gary is dead set against Janet and has decided he will never like her, he has been a hell of a lot nicer to her than other acts he's been against; namely Sammi and Johnny.

Bullying seems to be the theme of this whole series for some reason. Why is it bullying? Because she's a shy and timid little thing? Even Janet herself has been trying to fight against that stereotype! If what Gary has said to Janet constitutes bullying, then he should have been fired weeks ago for the extent of "bullying" he has done to other contestants.

As much as I loath Gary he was spot on with his criticism. Janet is dull and boring.
On top her constantly blaming everyone else but herself for her bad performances make her very unlikable,

I just don't get the hype with Janet. She is very bland, and seems to lack a personality. Almost like a sulky child. The fact is her singing is mediocre and not a good performer. If you compare her to Marcis there is no comparison. Marcus is streets ahead of her. He has a better voice and performs every week.

And last night I sensed she was disconnected from her song. It was sing by numbers and there was selling point of her performance

If she wants to win this she has to start performing the song- and be prepared to compromise

'particularly when habitual and involving an imbalance of power' and 'may be directed persistently towards particular victims, perhaps on grounds of Race ..... ability

Yes, she is not the only one and I admit it is seen by Society as more and more acceptable, but if you do it to make people feel bad about themselves in the hope they perform worse, it is bullyng.

That may be a definition - but bullying is very subjective and needs to be put into context. What is one person's bullying may be acceptable behaviour to another person. As far as the X Factor goes it is a competition in the same way as exams to obtain qualifications, interviews, etc.

Alternatively he thinks, as I do, that she is massively over-rated and shit?
Yes I think he has had the epiphany I had during the auditions.

Gary just goes after the one that is struggling to get good performances, which i think Janet is.
Same with Johnny

Yet they were both doing great, he might see them as competition for his boys?

Gary's beef with Janet is that she is boring and even her fellow Irish Louis said it not too long ago. The fact is, she is massively over-rated. There have been several weeks where she should have been in the bottom 2, but people still vote for her mostly because of her sweet, little-girl-lost looks, I suspect she probably reminds many of their angelic looking 10 year olds, like Eoghan did a few years back.

If Gary's meaning to be tactical then he's going the wrong way about it. If an act gets bad criticism I think it encourages people to pick up the phone and vote for them which they might not have done otherwise. I think the acts in most danger are ones that get bland but good comments from the judges, in this week I think Kitty's going to be in most danger.
People who like Janet will not like what Gary has said and will vote.

But I have to agree with Gary, I'm bored with Janet now and could not imagine having to listen to a whole album of hers.

If Gary was constructive about it then I wouldn't be suspicious. But he's overly complimentary about his own acts and then concentrates his negativity on the other acts.

He just sounds like a bitter party-pooper who's getting at the other judges through their acts

Gary is quite transparently trying to torpedo every act other than his own. He finished off Nu Vibe, Sami, Sophie, Johnny. Now he has it in for Janet and Kitty and is warming up with Little Mix. No doubt Misha and Amelia will be next
Agree.
Amelia has only just returned so he won't be getting critical of her yet, and Misha has had the full knock of bullygate and ended up in the bottom two. If she hadn't then he'd be saying she is getting predictable and lacks a connection with the audience. I think picking at Misha right now would be seen as cruel.

He is finally seeing what a lot of people are seeing - she is an average singer with not a lot of potential to be anything other than a niche singer. She hasnt got the wow factor. The live shows, I believe, have exposed her. I personally reckon she was always the weakest of the 4 Kelly selected.

And, finally, last night I think he admitted it. Even Tulisa is now appearing to concede that she is a one trick pony, and her mentor, Kelly, was not gushing either last night.

I think it is the end of the line for Janet, and she will go either this week or next week.
This.

Also, I don't know why everyone thinks she's quiet and timid, behind the scenes and on xtra factor she doesn't come across that way. If anything, Misha seems more shy and nervous than her.

To be fair, I thought Janet had a good week this week, following on a week where she was not so good. A lot of artists have a 'style' that suits them and go with that. I certainly would prefer that she stick with the style that suits her. Gary was quite blatant in the reasons behind his critique, he says she is predictable, however, much as I like Craig, he is also predictable, same with Marcus, who I know is popular, but the past three performances have been very similar. Gary is just trying to cover his artists by attacking the others. Unfortunately, he has forgotten that this is about the contestants, all of the contestants, not about scoring off some of them.

They are struggling or they are doing great?

Sorry, I do not understand your post.

Tactical critiques.

When these words were the first ones on his lips after his acts were criticised, it revealed that that was what he had been doing all along. As the person on Xtra Factor said, everything he criticised Janet for was just as applicable to Craig.

Combined with his decision to choose Frankie, his encouragement to have Cocozza misbehave, his repeatedly broken promises to never lie, his script ghost-written by James Corden, Barlow is one of the falsest and least likeable judges the show has ever had.

It's hard to take anything Gray Borelow says seriously anymore. After lying to the public about Frankie, he then has the nerve to turn around and blame the public for Frankie's behavior? He also blamed the other judges for making tactical criticisms when he's does the exact same damn thing?

Mr Borelow has dropped way down in my estimation. He's like some fairly dull, out of touch school teacher.
