Researchsue made it a race issue...by suggesting that "dem black peple all speak like dat...its der cultur". That suggestion is, itself, offensive. Black people, from Georgia or otherwise, do not necessarily speak like this.

You clearly have no knowledge of Houston then.

There are most definitely poorer parts of Houston - I should know, I've visited Houston, and stayed with a friend on the poorer south side of the city.

Houston is also a high crime rate area and the highest number of death penalty convictions in Texas.

That's NOT what researchshirley said at all.

Of course this isn't true of all black people. What a foolish twisting of my comments.

Some of the opinions on this thread are offensive, yes.

You can take the girl out of the ghetto, but can't take the ghetto out of the girl!

You're absolutely spot-on with this.

I have black American friends from Houston, Texas, and this is precisely what I've seen them do, usually with a twinkle in their eyes.

The opening track from "Here I Am" is "I'm Dat Chick"

It's amazing how many of us have "black friends" from Houston all of a sudden....

Are you accusing the poster of lying? This thread's full of absolute charmers today, isn't it?

according to you they're offensive. I personally don't see racism in everything that's written on this forum

the problem is there can be no logical discussion once the race issue is brought up

I think Kelly is a crap judge not because of her race/background or "indigenous vernacular" but she simply irriates me with her shouting down of louis and also how she tries to mentor tulisa's acts

I just think it's funny how many posters now have black friends in Houston. Or profess to have an intimate knowledge about African Americans in Georgia.

Anyway, you have failed to shut this thread down with your PC militancy. Hard luck.

Can't decide which was more cringeworthy, Kelly's "UP TEMPOOO" or Dannii's "Candyman Sweeet"

Frankly, evenif it weren't, I don't see why you find it so difficult to deal with. ”

Poor yes, but ghettos in the true sense of the word,... no!

My black friends in Houston told me that Actually a Texas cop did.

Anyway I thought you lot had all decided she got her ghetto speak from Georgia when she was 8 or something.

Make your minds up!

So as they say in the den I'm out... IMO she is a nauseating obnoxious waste of space and she would be that way whether she was white, black or from Mars!!!

All of a sudden?

This man was a friend of our family; he was EXECUTED in 2007 for his part in a gun crime. It's his family I stayed with when I visited Houston. OK?

You should remember that you are one of them. I'm sick of people playing the racist card just because something is said that they disagree with and then they say it was offensive, especially when others didn't think it was offensive.
Even if it was offensive, it doesn't automatically mean it was racist. So get rid of the chip off your shoulder and get a life.

Let's save this for the politics forum

kelly needs to learn to give constructive critisism. i've noticed when she doesnt like an act or their song she goes straight for the jugular.

she needs to tone it down a bit as she comes across as confrontational and aggressive and the people on the receiving end are only kids.

Chip on shoulder, get a life. Anything more imaginative to say? I'm not alone in finding much of this thread racist and offensive and I'm entitled to say as much, sorry if that upsets you.

As mentioned I was watching Graham Norton and found her totally utterly different to how she is on X Factor, for whatever reason, which I am sure there must be one, but I must say what I found amusing in week one is very annoying now indeed.
