It was like comparing Harrods to Primark last night

Watching both Strictly and X-factor last night was a feeling akin to comparing Harrods to Primark.

My admiration and respect for Strictly grew ten fold. It is pure entertainment from start to finish, hosted by a man who could be retired twenty years ago and still manages to be top of his game. It does not need to contrive non existent arguments and dramas to sustain interest, and I could never see a time when six weeks into Strictly they suddenly announce they are letting a new celeb begin competing to win alongside the others. It wouldn't be contemplated and would not be tolerated.

Somehow I don't think anyone from X-factor need bother drafting a speech of thanks for the next NTAs.

It will be Tess and Bruce on the stage !! Without a doubt !

Yes Strictly is very slick and they've got it spot on.

The only thing that would improve it in my own opinion is if they scrapped the celebs and did an audition process for real people ....which is what the format of the show was originally when it first started and I was disappointed when they scrapped that to use celebs instead.

Are you sure of that?

Len to Craig: "You little sod!"

There were one or two near-the-knuckle remarks from Bruno and Russell as well.

Bruno: You are so good at swinging it both ways. (If I remember correctly)

Russell: I have a big opening for that. (audience titters nervously)

You are so right. The contrast this year could not be more stark.

I couldn't agree more.

...especially since, while I occasionally check out Harrod's, I generally find a lot more that is of use and interest to me at Primark

The 'celebrities' are the reason I've never watched SCD.

The X Factor like Primark clothing, falls apart after a few wears

The production of Strictly is better than ever and miles ahead of the X Factor which has become cliche-ridden with predictable dialogue which is becoming tedious.

I agree, Strctly is miles ahead of XF in terms of production and judging. Personally I prefer singing to dancing so XF gets some points back only because of it. I am hoping that The Voice will be of Strictly calibre!

Well Craig is a little sod

X Factor is kinda trashy compared with SCD.

I used to slag off Strictly but got to hand it to them, they look at what is wrong with the format and change with the times, the results show is done so much better than x factor and straight to the point and they seem to have more fun with the contestants and not so many bitchy fight with the judges.
