I was channel flicking last night and was shocked to see a clip of Kelly adorned with what looked like the fur (and tails) of around 40 dead animals. UGH. Does anyone know if it was real fur or faux fur? It wasn't a good look.

Made me kind of glad I didn't watch the show last night.

It was faux.

I don't think they would allow her on camera with real fur?

It's not the kind of publicity the show wants.

Quite alot of people care actually, plus, i would imagine the hundreds of animals that are inhumanely reared and then slaughtered care greatly.

She said on twitter it was faux so you clearly have a bad eye for these things.

Lots of people; the fur industry is horrendous. In response to the OP, Kelly's apparently worn real fur quite a few times, so I would imagine she was this time too.

It is quite difficult to tell if coats are real or faux these days, as the faux ones are such good immitations.

Unfortunately, it DID look real to me, i am so disappointed in her, but with her bezzy mate Beyonce an avid wearer of fur, it's not surprising.

I can't respect anyone that thinks it is ok to wear a dead animal.

OK - I came across wrong there. I didnt mean the "fur" thing - im an animal lover. While I do think there are 1000's of issues in the world of much greater importance, i dont actually agree with wearing dead animals.

guess what I meant was I really couldnt care less what people are wearing so I take no notice.

She tweeted it was faux.

I did. I like Kelly but, that was a faux-pas if the fur was real imho. I thought the producers wouldn't be as daft as too let her wear the "real thing" on TV so assumed it had to be fake.

Edit: I've just seen your response and can now see where you're coming from.

It was real.
Destiny's Child often wore fur in their clips and so does Beyonce.
Fur isn't a hot topic anymore, lot's of celebs went back to wearing real fur.

Hmm... So it's important only if it is a "hot topic"? Even I can see though the crassness of that comment.

As far as I know torture of dissidents in some countries isn't 'hot' at the moment. Presumably it's okay then?

Yeah OP, didn't you know, she said she killed all 40 of them with her bare hands and stole their fur.

Have you not realized Celebrities that wear real fur, come under heavy attack for doing so, I really don't think today's celebrities are stupid enough to be wearing real fur these days.

She was just wearing an expensive faux fur that looks real, one that many of us can't afford to buy.

And this matters because...? If "lots of celebs" started jumping in front of moving trains, would you start doing that, just because it's a "hot topic"? I make my lifestyle decisions based upon (among other things) whether or not a particular product is causing needless suffering to innocent sentient creatures, not how many "celebs" happen to be a fan of it that particular year.

And re. Kelly: it looked pretty real. I doubt it was fake. The fact she said it was fake probably just means she's a liar as well as having bad taste in fashion.

I'm not sure of the designer, but all the fashion and news sites identify it as faux fur.

Nothing crass about my comments, I don't support wearing real fur I'm just saying how it is these days cause people argued she wouldn't wear real fur because of the media backlash.
You can have a go at the guy who said "Who cares?" all you like the harsh truth is hardly anyone does these days anymore.

They were perfectly content with Frankie's binge partying and sex scandals [until drugs were mentioned], and with the overly raunchy performances by Xtina [and whoever the other one was] last year...

I'm not saying it was real fur but it's in her and the show's interests for her to claim it was faux.

Thanks sorcha -a good point.

I eat meat and so does my dog. I also have a pair of leather shoes. For me the difference is that I can choose to buy meat (or eggs or cheese) from animals that are reared in humane conditions.

Meat is used to keep people alive. Trapping small animals in cages only to kill them, burn their bodies and use their fur for frivolous decoration is a different matter in my world.

It's not really the same thing though is it? You can survive without meat.

Well said! and very well put I don't like the idea of needless cruelty to animals- but nor do I like the tactics employed by animal rights activists either as I abhor violence of any kind

I am not going to judge kelly if she was or was not wearing fur either but hopefully it was faux fur
