Thanks sorcha -a good point.
I eat meat and so does my dog. I also have a pair of leather shoes. For me the difference is that I can choose to buy meat (or eggs or cheese) from animals that are reared in humane conditions. Meat is used to keep people alive. Trapping small animals in cages only to kill them, burn their bodies and use their fur for frivolous decoration is a different matter in my world. The only way to pretty much ensure that you're not contributing to the inhumane treatment of animals is to go vegan (and I'm not saying that anybody should - that would be hypocritical of me since I eat dairy products - only that it's not as simple as saying 'I can choose to buy only ethically produced animal products'). |

I make my lifestyle decisions based upon (among other things) whether or not a particular product is causing needless suffering to innocent sentient creatures, .
The question should really be can that suffering be justified by benefits it may yield. In the case of fur or Make-up --- no it cant. in the case of medication, yes it can IMO. |

Why don't you all hang her to a tree and leave a cross burning in the back garden?
