It will never cease to amaze me how people can drum up so much hatred.
Where does it all come from?

Critique is fine, debate is fine, but this hate is OTT

I'd be interested in hearing how many affectations she can fit into her scream while being crushed actually.

And would it be in tune?

Some people deserve to be hated.

Yes. The ones who rush to hating.

It happens every year. And all over anywhere on the internet where people are invited to give comment (see news articles, Twitter as well as forums like this).

It's all part of the delight that is 'the lower half of the internet'. When the blinking white box asks for an opinion people are, to a greater or lesser extent, anonymous. They don't have to be truly accountable for what they say; they're just a name on a screen so they can get away with being more outrageous than they would if it were a face-to-face conversation.

yes frankie did mainly because he was a horrible person and being disrespectful to women. but janet hasn't done anything wrong. just because she isn't the best in compitition does not mean she deserves to be insulted

Why do quite a number of people automatically assume just because you don't like a contestant and their way of singing or whatever, you hate them?

It is perfectly normal to dislike something/or someone without being labelled 'a hater' it's ridiculous.

For the record I don't hate anybody 'sigh'

I dont hate her I just get the feeling she thinks she is better than she is imo.

Word.
Nobody actually hates those people not even Frankie they just don't like them. Peopel don't care enough it's just part of the show.
Besides Janet doesn't get anywhere near as much backlash as Frankie so calm down.

I so agree. I don't like the singing of some of them (Misha, Amelia - too shouty for me) but I don't personally know any of them so I don't feel able to say what they're like as people.

Then you probably won't be wanting them to be run over by a steamroller or contract some loathsome disease and you're unlikely to spend hours seeking out their performances in order to say how awful they are, and...

I dunno. Saying you thought someone's performance was dreadful or that it did nothing, or something worse, for you, doesn't seem to get labelled as hating, nor should it. I guess even disliking someone to any great extent on the basis of what's to be seen of them in the highly edited view provided by X Factor VTs and/or the tabloids seems a tad mean and/or childish to me. And I think the OP is right, some folk seem to go some way beyond mere dislike.

She strops onto the stage with a face like a smacked arse, she alternates between a low mumble that you strain to hear and a loud wail that irritates the ears.

And if you are allowed to hate Frankie because you think he's disrespectful, I'm allowed to feel the same way for Janet because she's a miserable emo who misled me into thinking she was talented

I don't wish any of the contestants actual bodily harm nor do I wish them to contract some sort of disease ffs!

I merely comment on whether I like their performances or not. Sure if they sound like a cat 'mogging' in the dark I will say so. It's not hatred that would make me say it it's just my opinion. If they shriek, shout or whimper through a song I'll say it how I hear it, nothing more, nothing less.

Same here. If everyone stopped where you and I do the OP would have had nothing to post about

Guess it's an example of "mob mentality" in action. Derren Brown was right!

It just drives me potty the second you say anything other than praise to a contestant that someone likes, you must hate them.

I don't like Misha at all, but I don't wish her any harm or hate her. In fact, none are actually ringing my bell this year. I think the show is really going the way of the DoDo. I'm questioning why I'm continuing to watch it to be truthful with you 'sigh'

It's ridiculous on here at times LOL!

Maybe people who actually do something to warrant it? Contestants in a talent search do not qualify in my eyes.

Criticisms are fine, I think. It's when people start directly insulting contestants that others like that the problems really begin. It generates an unfriendly atmosphere and influences others to do the same (or even go further ), and the whole thing spreads like a fever throughout the board.

Can you please tell me what hate she gets? I must be missing something. I just see comments that's she's a 'one trick pony' 'she's boring' 'bland' 'Zzzzzz' etc

Hardly anyone hating....

Ya, I know. Tis a shame that some folk follow like sheep. But there you have it. Personally I say it how I see it and if others don't agree then that's fine. We all have differing opinions.

Yes, I'm no Misha fan either, but I've been pretty forthright about that and haven't been accused yet of hating her. Then, I wouldn't be joining her Twitter followers, and unless someone really twisted my arm in the hope of converting me I'll not be watching her on YouTube... I hear her on the show itself and that's more than enough

can't stand that sort of attitude. Hate is such a strong word and not required on these forums. Get a dictionary and come up with a more acceptable word. If you know how to use one.
