There's a lot of controversy about Amelia coming back. They say she's come back simply to fill the gap that Frankie has left, but in your opinion is that the truth? There's a few options.

1. Amelia was planned to return from the start
- She has been 'the chosen one' from day 1. kelly was told to eliminate her in week one, and the producers knew she would return at some point.

2. Amelia was meant to be gone for good but the producers back-tracked
- She was always meant to be gone in week 1, perhaps to avoid taking the lime-light from 'the chosen one' (Marcus? Janet? Rhythmix?) but then the producers back-tracked at some point and though 'shit, what have we done? we need to get her back')

3. The whole thing is genuine
- Kelly genuinely had free will in her decision, Amelia was gone for good.
- When they needed a replacement, the producers couldn't give a shit whether Amelia, Jonjo, James or 2 Shoes were coming back.

4. Any other conspiracy theory

I think 2 is the most likely option.

4....

They didn't realise how bad this series was going to be, so they parachuted her in with lots of controversy to boost ratings.

Theory 3. Otherwise, Amelia would have kept her mouth shut after she got the boot.

i think the 4 were eliminated in week one just in case somewhere down the road they needed a spare

i also think they dont need a reason to stick in a wildcard. Theres nothing stopping them putting in a wildcard at any point of the competition.

With no other justification than theyre putting in a wildcard.

So if frankie hadnt messed up, they may have been planning to stick a wildcard in anyway

This, but then after that the ratings were tanking and they needed a plan to get her back, I still think that they gave a pay check to Frankie to leave so that Amelia could come back and they knew that Amelia would win the public vote.

But #1 could be true, they may of told Kelly to not pick Amelia as the first weeks themes may not have suited Amelia and they knew Amelia would suit this weeks theme and that the performance would be amazing which would get everyone talking so that the ratings would shoot back up

Theory 2 for me, dumb move getting rid of her without using public vote

Theory 2, although I think its possible that they considered a James Michael return and this would have fit anyway, although its funny everyone was already acting like Amelia was in shortly after the twist was announced.. its hardly surprising though, Amelia does have a 'winner' quality about her.

I voted three. I'm not entirely convinced the whole thing is genuine, but it's highly unlikely it was pre planned from the start. That would mean Frankie would've had to have been a plant of some sort, and can you really see turd-features keeping his mouth shut about that, confidentiality agreement or not?

Certainly pre-planned they tried to get it done earlier with Masha-gate and Kitty-gate but the public didn't bite therefore they had to sacrifice their headline generating machine that was Frankie to get her back. If the Great British Public had been taken in by one of the scandals earlier they would have been gone and we'd have had Frankie and Amelia in the competition. TPTB had to keep Amelia on Ice for a few weeks as the girls category appeared to be the strongest at the start and couldn't risk a shock exit for her early on so planned the shock exit themselves so they could bring her back without an Ofcom investgation.

Syco saw the train wreck ready to fall off the bridge into the grand canyon. They demanded change.

Has to be option 3. If it was preplanned, how could the judges know that Frankie would be safe last week?

How does one pre-plan something?

I think that as soon as Frankie started to be a real problem the producers had her in mind for a return if things were to get worse.

They hoped getting rid of her in week one would make the twist worthwhile by generating controversy as previous shock eliminations have. They didn't count on how sh*t the rest of them were and used this opportunity to bring her back (they knew that by putting those 4 to a vote, Amelia would definitely be back).

If it had been planned from the start, I'm 99% sure that they'd have brought her back before now. It has been clear for weeks that this series is struggling. And arguably, bringing her back sooner would have made more impact (memories of eliminated contestants fade quickly in reality TV!).

I don't think it was planned for her to come back, I'd hesitate in saying the whole show is genuine though as they obviously do try and manipulate stuff, but the conspiracy theories on here are way OTT and rather amusing

You don't think the contestants are told the potential next steps unless they ned them to know,do you?

She and others were potential wildcard, but her specifically planned to return was unlikely.

Option 3 ...they changed Little Mix song 2 days before the show because they realised with Frankie gone and with them doing a slow song for the 4 returnees, they now had too many slow songs. If it was planned why would there be all the last minute changes

Theory 3. Even though I liked Kelly at the start, through the series so far she has proved to be a rubbish mentor and judge often taking bad decisions.
The Producers are bound to have had a back-up plan from the start should someone dropout due to poor health, rules breaks or whatever, and this was it. They may have had a favourite, but they can't manipulate the public vote. All the online polls had Amelia miles ahead, she was a bookies favourite and she had 48% of the phone vote.
