Would you like to see the introduction of 'Team Dances'?

If anyone follows DWTS or has ever seen an episode then you will know in the later stages of the competition when there are around 6 couples left they usually split into 2 teams to perform a team dance, the most recent team dance on DWTS was a team paso V team tango, i really enjoy these team dances and i think they would be a good introduction to Strictly

What do you guys think ?

Not terribly keen on this myself....Its ok if the teams are fairly equal in ability but its unfair on the better couples to be lumbered with someone like Nancy on DWTS and get less points than the other team. I am also not a fan of that disaster of a group thing they did in series 7 when Brian basically sabotaged the others.

I prefer there to be some group dances for no marks that we can all laugh at generally....or really enjoy (floats away dreaming of Gethin in uniform for the jitterbug on Remembrance Sunday in series 5)

No, because it disadvantages the good couples in the "losing" group. Unless it is not scored and just commented on.

I'd like the unscored group dance from series 5 to return when we're down to 7, and then for a group medley when we're down to 6 like we had last year, with the worst dancer leaving the floor first, etc. It allows us a good insight into the judges' favourites. Then 2 dances from 5 couples onwards.

Sounds pointless to me. No thanks.

Please, no more DWTS nonsense on SCD. Enough! Enough! Enough!

I'm not keen on the team dance thing because as others have said, one team can be disadvataged by a weak dancer. I'd prefer the instant dance to be brought over. The couples have to learn the basic steps of a dance (it was jive this week on dwts) & on the live show, after doing their main dance, each couple drew a song out of a hat and then had 20 minutes to put a routine together before performing it to the audience & judges. It really showed how good some of them had become.

I wouldn't like to see it introduced here. I was in the US the week they did it on DWTS and I felt it actually skewed the result. We have enough skewing of the results by over/under-marking or nasty comments (which tend to have an impact on how the public vote) without further interference.

If it ain't broke (and although it isn;t perfect it isn;t broken!) don't mend it!

Is this similar to what they did in Dancing on Ice earlier this year? Don't really think it would work on SCD if it is.

I guess it might be considered a tea dance will be suitable for much of SCD's
audience.
