Gary and Marcus

Gary picked an awful song for Marcus last night. There are so many other songs that Marcus could have nailed. It doesn't help that Another One Bites the Dust has little to it (this coming from a Queen fan).

He's picked several poor songs in for Marcus in the past as well (Russian Roulette and Moves Like Jagger come to mind).

How can such a "genius" songwriter fail so hard at matching songs with contestants?

I agree. My first song choice when i heard the theme was 'Show must go on' for Marcus He could sing that better than Amelia did.

Because Marcus doesn't fit into the niche of middle of the road ballard belter like Craig and that's the only type of music Gary knows these days. Marcus really needs to put his foot down and fight his corner before it's too late.

He's actually matching them quite well given the agenda at play. I suspect that Marcus would have won this competition easily had it not been for the sabotage of producers via the mentor. Marcus is not the first to suffer this treatment. Many have before. It's part of the deal they sign up for but, as easy-going as he seems, it must be pissing him off seeing Craig being pimped up each week whilst his (Marcus's) chances are being wilfully damaged with bad songs and worse styling.
