Many thanks for that. I may check the dc blocker out. What do they look like and what kind of place would stock them? Does it go somewhere on the coax cable coming out of the rf2 on sky box?

If that does not work, I will put up with it the way it is. at least I have the humax with perfect picture throughout the house and it wont kill me to set the channel from the main tv really. thanks for all help.

This is a DC block...

...though you need F to belling-Lee adapters to connect it.

I'm not sure it will work. If I were you, I'd email the proprietor of that site and ask him first. He posts here sometimes, so you could point him to this thread.

Cheers,
David.

I also have cancelled sky and will be getting a freeview box in my loft, all I want is to be able to change the chanel through a coax cable and watch tne picture through an hdmi cable that has been fitted for my existing sky box.

I have been looking at this as an alternative to the above;
SLX Omni Link+ System OmniLink & Slx Link Digi Eye

would this do the job.

Firstly, you do know that a Sky box will get the Sky version of the Freeview channels using either an expired Sky card or a one-off £25 "Freesat from Sky" card, right?

That means that your existing Sky box can still be useful, and so you don't need to spend extra on a Freeview box and all the IR control paraphernalia. Simply use the Sky RF2 output and the magic eyes.

However, if you've already junked that gear then yes, presuming we are both looking at the same thing, that should give you a solution for a single additional TV. There's also the Triax Tri-Link system which is about £15 more, but will distribute house wide and also allow control of up to three boxes at the source end.
