Janet is just repeating what happened to Diana Vickers
Shadow2009

I've said this in tons of threads.

Just like Diana, people are starting to tire of Janet and realise she's a one trick pony. It was exactly this stage in the compitition that Diana survived off the back of THAT 'Yellow' performance () which was just like Janet's dreadful performance last night. It was at this stage in the show that Diana started rapidly losing support and other acts started to shine. It's happening to Janet - Marcus and Little Mix are rapidly gaining support plus the arrival of Amelia is surely having a negative effect on Janet's chances.

I suspect she's only getting through on the basis of her auditions/first live show performance, just like Diana (who started off the show brilliant before going downhill each week).

this was all predicted in the early stages - clearly a 1TP

Unfortunately that means we're stuck with her till the semi final - and if they do a Cher Lloyd style sing off - possibly the final .

I know you have said it it ton's of threads, so why feel the need to start another to repeat yourself again

Diana was in a strong category in 2008 where it looked like at the start that all three girls could reach the final. She suffered in terms of expectation because of that and because Alexandra Burke made the most of getting through every week unnoticed. Also the public liked JLS a lot so in the end it came down to a choice between her and Eoghan for the final.

The girls category hasn't been as strong this year so it's a false comparison with this year. Diana didn't fall into the bottom two until the semi final and Janet despite the criticism she is getting still looks likely to get into the semi-final.

And Little mix don't do the same thing every week I suppose.

Everyone is getting scared that Janet might win and know their favourites are in danger its fun to watch!

As Simon Cowell said on American x factor this week acts should be performing similar styles of music that they would record on albums. There is no point Janet coming out and singing songs stupidly out of her comfort zone that will inevitably make her performance weaker, she wouldn't risk doing it on an album so why on this show? Janet's fans like her because of the way she sings and the style of music she sings, she should stick to that and if it doesnt work out in terms of winning the x factor then so be it, but im sure she'll make a successful recording artist.

I wouldnt say Diana was a one trick pony!

Her call me performance was amazing, with or without you, smile were all great. They werent the same.

Even Diana's 'girlfriend' was an amazing performance, and if she had performed that song before the semi-final i think she would have made the final!

I have my favourites but if Janet was actually good I wouldnt mind them losing out to her, but she's destined to be a FLOP so I'd rather someone better makes it. And Little Mix have shown more versatility than Janet E.T wasnt exactly up-tempo, I'm pretty much sure that Little Mix will be able to pull of both ballad and up-tempo. Janet simple cannot do that!

i think Diana was more versatile than Janet - call me, anyone?

Alex won it the week she did Christina Aguilera with the big dance routine.

I love posts like these. Complete arrogance by Janet fans who can't handle the fact that their favourite isn't as popular as she once was.

I might just keep this saved and throw it back in your face when she doesn't win. Just to be annoying.

!

(and Little Mix don't do the same thing every week. Their Week 1 performance had tons of rapping, Week 2 as a pop ballad, their Week 3 performance was a medley, Week 4 was 100% character and choreography, Week 5 was a full on dance track (not some little cute upbeat number that Janet done) and Week 6 had elements of rap and dance.

Janet just slows everything down and warbles.

Little Mix do the same thing every week If Janet wins then she deserves too no matter how you flip it round. You and others are clearly worried and you should be because Janet is the one to beat!

Turning point for Diana was the week she didn't sing due to health issues and she made bad press. After that nearly all her performances went off in some way (bad song choices and pitch issues). She was nearly flawless prior to that.

I'm undecided about Janet. She fluctuates from week to week. I still think that with right writers she'd be able to record a really good album after the show.

The character assassination plan has done it's job. The year the X factor was rebranded as the 'Dullards factor'. Forgettable acts steamroll their way towards the final.:yawn::sleep:

why would they do a Cher Lloyd style sing-off? The producers want her gone as much as you do.

The problem last night with Janet though wasn't that she's a one trick pony. She took a good song and made it so incredibly dull. So did Craig.

Diana went downhill after she had that throat infection.

I agree with the OP. Funny thing is, I really liked Diana and thought she sounded unique and I liked that she was a bit quirky. But, I have never been a fan of Janet- it all seems a little contrived to me. And she doesn't have the personality of Diana to pull off the ditsy character successfully. She just appears to be dull and her voice sounds affected. Not my cup of tea at all, I'm afraid.

Diana lost support because her performances went downhill.

Her first four weeks were brilliant, and her votes were solid throughout the four weeks.

She got ill, missed a week, lost confidence, and didn't get back to the standard her first four performances were at.

That is why Diana lost support/the competition.

Janet's performances have never been solid - they're very hit and miss and her fanbase has pulled her through pretty much every week.

Don't get me wrong, I like Janet, and in fact she's my favourite in the competition but I'm supporting her due to her YouTube videos she did before TXF - they were so much better than she has been on the live shows.

Janet and Diana aren't compareable, in my opinion, when it comes to their performances and losing votes (and we won't know that's the case with Janet until the figures are released).

since the first series, xfactor has always had different themes, genres etc. They've all been expected to cope with it - remember big band week, or swing as it was later called.

It shows they are versatile.

I don't think there's necessarily anything wrong with being a one-trick pony.
As said in another thread why's versatility such a big deal when most musical acts who perform music for a living do what they want to do?

I didn't see Michael Jackson do heavy rock, I didn't see Celine Dion do hip hop.

Why on The X Factor is it important to be a jack of all trades but a master of none?
Aren't the cream of the crop known more for being the masters of what they do?

Janet just may be doing what a lot of voters want.
If they like it then why do anything different? Why not just concentrate on what's she's best at and concentrate on doing it as well as she can?

Where's the evidence that people are starting to tire of her? Hasn't been in the bottom two so far and apart from some negative threads on here (it only takes one person to start one) I'm not sure where you're getting that opinion from.
