What the hell have they done to them? they're bloody horrible now

Had some tonight for the first time in a few years and they used to be my favorites, but now URGHHHH only 6 varieties and my favorite soft centres are now a fondant thing and sickly sweet.

Won't be having them again

I haven't had them in years. I remember when Dairy Box changed and i wasn't best pleased, ditto Milk Tray.

None seem to have coffee creams in now (well, not that I remember, it's been a long time since I had a box of chocolates!).

Only 6 different types of chocolates though seems a ridiculously small amount.

Black Magic, Milk Tray, All Gold and Dairy Box are all disgusting now.

Perhaps our taste buds is used to Roses, Quality Street, Celebrations, etc now.

I remember that one box of chocolates had something that was a hollow chocolate shell containing a cherry with liquid cherry liqueur.
Which box were they in, and do they still have them ?

Oooh I don't know, but M&S do a box of decent chocolate cherry liquors.
They're usually always on offer too this time of year.

Good grief! Are Black Magic still in existence? The height of sophistication decades ago, along with Liebfraumilch, prawn cocktail and Black Forest gateau.

I was about to say the same about Black Magic; thought they were long gone! But hey, don't diss the black forest gateau - it's still our family's favourite.

Bought some for mum on mother's day and she dislikes them now.

I think she quite liked the bitterness of them formerly, but they've all gone really sweet and sugary now.

I miss dark chocolate Brazil nuts. They're hard to get hold of now.

I don't eat Roses, Quality Street or Milk Tray anymore; since 2009, the shape of Strawberry Dream is now square, with strawberry seed engravings, instead of a dome shape. I don't know when, but I liked the 90s shape of the Orange Creme (it was like a cup shape, but it too is now square, with orange engravings). The only Roses sweets I like now, that haven't changed, are the Golden Barrels.

Since September 2007, the Caramel Cup in Quality Street is now a frustum. The other sweets - Coconut Eclair, Fudge, Purple One (Hazelnut in Caramel), Toffee Penny are still the same.

As for Milk Tray, I stopped eating these too since 2009, as the Turkish Delight in the Eastern Delight is now light brown instead of magenta. The fondant in the Strawberry Kiss is now actually pink, instead of whitish, but the Fudge Dream, Caramel Heart and Hazelnut Caress are still the same.

What's to stop someone inventing time travel, where I'll be able to eat these delicious boxes again, when I'll be able to go back to when these sweets were tastier than they are now?
