THE Little Boots Appreciation Thread!!
Josh Pinder
13-11-2011
For lovers of Little Boots (Victoria Hesketh) to unite and discuss and share love for her and her EPIC Stylophone!

Her latest song Shake has been unleashed from her next EP "Shake Until Your Heart Breaks" before the second studio album, the follow up to the fantastic Hands album, is unleashed next year!

here Tiz -

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BsX4FPFBgFk

and enjoy and feel free to give feedback and discuss! For me i love that Nu Disco is seeing a comeback...reminds me of 90s House sounds and the Studio 54 Disco vibes of late 70s/early 80s New York!

I FEEL it in other words.

Also who else thinks Hands is a solid album, who was underwhelmed? Do you think she was deserved the title Artist of 2009 by the BBC? etc.etc.

Fave songs.....

Lets talk yall!

Great idea! Hands was one of my favourite albums of 2009, she is completely underrated. Can't stop listening to Shake and I'm really looking forward to the album! When is the EP coming out?

Thanks so much,

And yeah Hands and Lungs were defining albums of 2009 for me

And i know Shake is kinda hypnotic i find....like catchy but not forced catchy.

And the EP should be out late Nov/Dec i think and new album for next year sometime

Little Boots is quite versatile. New in Town and Remedy are both quite distinctive songs but are not alike.

I am looking forward to hearing Shake and other forthcoming material of hers.

I liked Little Boots' manner when she was on Never Mind the Buzzcocks.

She was born on 4.5.84 so May the 4th be with you!

BRILLIANT

The whole album had very unique sounds and distinctive vibes...i hope it progresses....like create imagery of Studio 54 perhaps...really ignite those Neo Disco/Club vibes perhaps....will be interesting to hear from the new material!

I liked her debut album. She was doing the sound of music that has made it's way back to the charts and yet she was totally ignored back in 09. The attention was too much on La Roux.

I am eager to hear Album 2.

Remedy was my song of 2009

I also liked New In Town and Earthquake

I agree little monster TOO much time on La ROux...whos album was actually pretty substandard stuff really.

Hands was the REAL deal for Synthpop that year.

2009 was a good year for music. I think my favourite albums that year were Hands (Little Boots), The Fame/Monster (Lady Gaga), Turn It Up (Pixie Lott) and Wordshaker (The Saturdays)

I couldn't stand her! Her music was just so annoying and she sounded like a cat being dragged under a car.

La roux is awful. I am shocked she manage to even crack america and even bag herself as a grammy win.

I can't wait to see what Little boots returns with.

I forgot to say yesterday that Fi Sadler on Imagine FM played New in Town on Friday, an excellent way to conclude her year of shows.

One of my fave songs of 2011 was Nerina Pallot with I Don't Wanna Go Out, which reminded me a bit of New in Town.

I hope it is not long before Little Boots' new album is released.

I hope she really promotes it when it is released...sure Hands had some success from the Beeb promotions really....but with this it is a maker or breaker....but i cannot wait to hear more from her.

I got to know New in Town better when I discovered Fi Sadler on Imagine FM, and she played it regularly. They played New in Town in preferance to Remedy, which my previous regular station Tower FM preferred.

While I was saddened that Fi left Imagine FM on Friday, she appropriately did play New in Town in the first hour!

Not long before Little Boots' birthday, just 12 days to go, so I must listen to New in Town then.

I Want You To Take Me There, Every Night I Say A Prayer

if Madonna/Depeche Mode/Beth Ditto/Kylie had an orgy i reckon it would sound as beautifully arty as this.

So excited to hear what she does next tbh! Hopefully there will be an album out soon too...while shot on a budget...the video looks great...reminds me a lot of Azari & iii too (massive fan of their Nu-House/Funk style!)

Loving Every Night I Say A Prayer at the moment! Could this be the start of a comeback for her? I really hope she releases a new album soon

the thing is if she releases a new album....will the demand be there as she has had no airplay thus far...we will see...but i know itll be a great one, Hands was a masterstroke tbh! Play it in the summer a lot!

I shall listen to her new song on Friday to coincide with Little Boots' birthday! Will it be her next single?

I think I prefer I Say a Little Prayer to Headphones.

While I was looking these up on Youtube, I listened to and was impressed by:

Symmetry (featuring Phil Oakey) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJ4L6AA-YoQ
Running Up that Hill (Acoustic version of Kate Bush song) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lf8SU...eature=related

PS I suddenly notice that Little Boots is the subject of my 4800th post. Is this a milestone?

I have always liked New in Town, but I came to like it more a year or so after it was released. Although it did not make my top 40 songs of 2000-09, I am pleased to report that it did reach my chart of 2004-13 which I decided today!
