Last night I had my first recording failure with Humax Foxsat. After 30 mins of watching an episode of 'The Jury' I fast forwarded through some adverts and when the programme resumed there was no sound and this continued until the end of the episode. I discovered that the sound had disappeared at the beginning of one of the adverts. Anyone got any ideas about such failures.

Screw up at ITV1-HD Granada, loss of sound continued into the news. Affected everyone using the Granada variant including Sky users

Thanks for that .I'm relieved it was't a box failure but very annoying - probably not worth watching the rest of series

I had the HDR miss a recording Saturday, first that I can remember in a long, long, long, long time.

The missed recording was Merlin on BBC 1 HD which I record for the OH. Generally the OH always watches this live and I only record it for her in case we have to go out unexpected, luckily.

I don’t have a clue why it missed this one but after Merlin in the Lottery draw programme (was not watching just hearing and paying no attention) they announced something about something not working that night because of a server problem effecting the red button services. I wonder if it was also causing problems with the flagging of Merlin.

I got 2 episodes of The Jury to go yet but I have recorded this via my Freeview HD recorder and up to now this has been OK.

The only sound problems I have had with the HDR over the past year are with CH4 HD when they transmit DD 5.1 with films. Had it twice in a year were the dialog goes just leaving the surround sound but can't see why ITV HD have problems with sound because they don’t do DD 5.1.

It recorded OK from Freeview-HD using a HD FOX T2, can't say what would have happened on a Foxsat-hdr but would have expected other posts by now.
