Hello you ....it was a great time ......weather was kind and everything ......no thermals or earmuffs needed ......and it was Scotland ......who'd have thunk it

I can laugh about the whiffy chap now but .....our knees kept touching and he was falling asleep on my shoulders

Was driving home when - right in the middle of the road was this young bloke (about 20) - shouting stop and help - well I had to slow down otherwise I'd have hit him.

He's standing there with a red cape on - some kind of boxers and NOTHING else - no shoes - nothing and it was minus 5 degrees. He was crying - and obviously drunk.

So I'm like "Awww he's crying and he's got no shoes on"

The male element in the car are shouting at me to DRIVE ON.

Well I did but felt terrible - in any case the car was only a 4 seater so there was no room for him.

When I pulled up at home I said I was gonna ring either the ambulance or police - I thought he'd be dead in the morning - Mr Lover said I wasn't soooo to cut a long story short again - I drove back - with Mr Lover and picked him up and drove him about 5 miles to his sister's house - he was crying all the way there - and kept saying thank you etc etc.

When I dropped him off he gave me a kiss and couldn't stop thanking us.

Well anyway - he was that drunk that I never got to the bottom of what had happened to him - but I know for certain that if he'd had to walk those 5 miles - he'd be lucky to be alive.

I know that it could be considered stupid but I just kept thinking - if that had been one of my sons I'd like to think someone would help them.”
