Ok people - my last poem was a little sad
Combination of things starting with toothache that's reaaal bad I've lost sleep night after night In fact that's why I'm here now - right Then Lover made a massooove mistake Watching some videos of JJJ - the end - for pete's sake It made me all teary and love struck once more It made me remember just what it was about them that I adore I couldn't understand how something soo magical could End up like it has and I can't see the trees for the wood I've NEVER seen a couple like it - in real life or on a TV show I've NEVER seen such closeness even though he was about to go I was trying to say - for all the new pictures that's been taken I don't see the connection - That's the point that I was making I said that I accepted the situation as it was - that's all As we have no choice than to do that - it's not our call But for all those who are wondering about the state of my toes I wouldn't worry about them just yet - even though for now they're still foes I'm here for the long haul - I have to see this thing right through For me - it's just what I've got to do My toes they have wriggled and squirmed - and curled under All the way through this story - Is it any wonder One by one my dear posters are getting off the bench Of course I can see why - I have got some sense It seems like the story is nearing and end Until I talk in pm - you know - dear Wend The future - I can't see - I aint no fortune teller Is it the real deal - Jose and this feller I need to stay here until the fat lady sings I need to stay here until I grow some wings So although - we've got to hear - about the situation I've still got to stay here for the duration |

Hi everybody----so much to say but how to fit it all in.
First of all thanks to everybody who said Happy Birthday to me both here and on Twitter. It made me feel very special. While we are on the subject of birthdays---Happy Birthday today to Cheeky. Hope you have a wonderful day today. Sorry I didn't get on to the thread yesterday on my birthday but after landing just before midnight at Gatwick had to drive home arriving about three and then make a fuss of puppy who had missed hubby and I and then grab about three hours sleep before getting up for a full day's work. Luckily boss said I could work from home in the morning which I did in pyjamas and dressing gown. After work I had cards and presents to open, Chinese take away to eat with family, daughters to tell all about holiday to and listen to their traumas of looking after house, dog, and three cats for week, husband's family to receive visit from, little bit of Children in Need to watch and then blessed sleep. So this morning ironically have woken up on a Saturday at the crack of dawn and had a skim through as much as possible of the thread that I have missed while I have been away As well as all the lovely birthday messages I must thank Lover for the poem written in my honour------how proud was I-----also how proud was I to have my name as a word answer in your word association game last night. I have missed you all. It was good to be able to grab half an hours Internet while I was away just to check on happenings but I did miss being able to have a daily check to see if there was any news. I had a great luxurious holiday. Cape Verde was wonderfully relaxing and luxurious but I wouldn't advise anyone to go there if they want night life, entertainment and lots of activity as they are new to tourism and haven't established that side yet. What they have got in their favour is wonderful weather, lovely beaches, very friendly native people and in our case a very luxurious resort. Luckily my hubby and I just needed a rest to get away from the pressures of life here for a week and it suited us. We had fantastic all inclusive five star accommodation in a resort which had only been opened in May so was still feeling very new, superbly clean, and very impressive. It was set on a lovely beach with a fantastic beach bar serving food and free alcohol and cocktails all included in the price. There were then three more swimming pools one with a swim up to bar---again free alcohol all included, and then two more restaurants serving good food. Our accommodation had been named as a suite when I did the late booking and turned out to be a villa in the grounds of the resort very close to the beach with three bedrooms and three bathrooms for my husband and I to get lost in. We also had a lounge and kitchen with washing machine , oven, microwave and dishwasher----the latter three which we didn't need as we had inclusive food cooked for us in the restaurants so would have been crazy to have cooked our own. We then had a sun terrace upstairs and our own personal garden with our own personal small swimming pool. The height of luxury. Well, amidst all this pampering I did manage to write a couple more chapters of the Golden Story so will post the first of those a bit later. Even out there on holiday I couldn't get away from thinking about John and Josie----sometimes in a positive way and sometimes I will admit in a negative way. I had so many ideas running through my head of ---'why' 'when' 'how'---all the usuals. I'm not going to write down any of my wild ideas----that's what they are--'wild ideas'--- and they are going to stay inside my head. What I will say is that reading through the last week on here and a little on twitter there still seem to be so many 'differing opinions' of the whole business that I do wonder if we will ever get any satisfactory answers or if we will ever get any conclusion to all of this that will ever sit right in the majority of people's minds and hearts. I did find Lover's second poem last night quite sad in a way---not because I saw it as her surrendering her toes----but more saying that she doesn't really know if the right conclusion to this story is capable of being reached. The other question is ----if the right conclusion is reached is it possible that we will never know that it has been. That might sound a bit confusing but are all the smoke and mirrors and the red herrings there for a purpose not just to confuse us for now, but to leave us guessing for a long time to come. Anyway must stop now as this post is getting much too deep. Once again thanks for all your good wishes. Look out for the next part of the Golden Story later and I will leave you with just two thoughts. What is the plural of 'a GBF'? When is a Great Dane not a Great Dane? Not questions I'm expecting an answer to. Just saying Take care Lyn xx |

Well even if you are gone now, I have to say Happy Anniversary to you and to Rob.
Good to hear that you've had a lovely day together to remember the day. Keeping mummy and daddy awake is the babe's job for sure. I tried to talk my son and daughter in law into doing something fun tonight or tomorrow so I could babysit, but my DIL is not going for it. ![]() She has to go back to work starting Wednesday and is really beginning to dread it. She doesn't want to miss a minute with Chase between now and then. Guess I'll just go visit this weekend and get my cuddles that way. ![]() Chase is just the perfect age to cuddle now Barbara .I love it when they reach the age when they pull your face round towards them when you're holding them or hold onto your ear for balance, or when you stand in front of a mirror with them and they finally realise it's you and them...I could go on and on...they're all perfect ages...even when they drive you to distraction... I'll be thinking of you all on Wednesday .to keep it on topic ,remember the first time we saw a pic of Josie with a baby and then oh my goodness that pic of John with a little girl, at Dave's Gloryfest I think it was..I think the thread went into overdrive ![]() Have a lovely weekend everyone and happy thanksgiving Barbara if we don't speak before. My youngest and his family will probably go up to San Antonio some time over the holiday week-end.They usually do.Very pretty with the lights switched on in preparation for Christmas. very much love jan xxxx |

Evening everyone
![]() I've been thinking about the thread a lot today, remembering this day last year when some of the young girls on here were travelling to Blackpool and meeting up with each other for the first time. The relief when they posted a picture of themselves on the platform at Blackpool station and we knew they'd all arrived safely .Then all the reports coming in and the girls waiting on the pier in the freezing cold......and then they finally met John and Josie Happy Days It's lovely to think of all the friendships we've made and the people we've met.Only last week Raerae and I met up again in London and we spent a lovely afternoon catching up. Sorry I don't post here these days but thank-you so much to all of you who keep the thread going. very much love Jan xxxx ![]() Quote:

Just sit and watch the wheels go round like I do and try not to let things bother you

Welcome back!
Me and you have similar brains!! Did you book this on the internet - if so send me the link please. I'm still thinking of sticking a cheeky week in just before Xmas. Thanks The holiday was booked as a late deal through Thompson. The hotel is the Melia Tortuga Beach Hotel and Spa. It's 5* all inclusive with all food and alcohol free apart from champagne and named bottled wine at dinner. But house wine, spirits etc are included. It is on the island of Sal, Cape Verde. It's a six hour flight from Gatwick. Weather lovely all year round. Very rarely rains. Mixture of very bright sun and fluffy cotton wool White clouds with a strong breeze at the moment that keeps you cool but never makes you need to wear a Cardigan even at night. As I said not really any entertainment and not anything really to do off the resort. Local town doesn't really have that much going for it. I was told by some other guests that the Riu hotel on the neighbouring island of Boa Vista is equivalent as well. |
