A few salient facts (pinched from Wikipedia) to explain Tess's enthusiasm:

The stadium contains 2,618 toilets, more than any other venue in the world.
The stadium has a circumference of 1 km (0.62 mi).
The bowl volume is listed at 1,139,100 m3, somewhat smaller than the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff, but with a greater seating capacity.
90,000 m3 (120,000 yd3) of concrete and 23,000 tonnes (25,000 short tons) of steel were used in the construction of the new stadium.
The total length of the escalators is 400 m (¼ mi).
The Wembley Arch has a cross-sectional diameter greater than that of a cross-channel Eurostar train

Well at the next Wiki edit you can delete all the above and replace with: New alternative home for Strictly.

NB We are assuming, of course, that if there are adverse weather conditions on The Day, that somebody will have firewalled the retracting roof button.
If there is fog, then no need for dry ice.

I hope the Arena has as many toilets as we have to be seated by 5.30....the live show doesnt start until 7.00 and there is only a 20 min break.....a big queue for the loo

I was just about to say that.....

Id only read the comment about the amount of loos.... and was just about to disagree.... (not enough loos for the full capacity ... although it is probably reduced for this weekend).

Actually there are some splendid reasons why they should hold it in the football stadium

- 90,000 capacity ( so I might actually get tickets for once)
- More strictly means less football
- Although there is a roof, I would leave it open and watch them slogging about in the rain - imagine the wet tail feathers
- Lots of loos, as mentioned by previous poster- and us girls need our loos
- A HUGE glitter ball could hang from the arch
- Bruce and Tess could witter on and I wouldn't hear a word
- Pies in the interval

Been a while since I've been there, but I don't remember it having quite that many, mind you, it was a Christmas Pogues gig so there's a lot I don't remember about that evening
What name??

I'm fortunate enough to have tickets... So I am very excited. I have a question for the more experienced (those who have attended shows before); what is the format for the shows?
Can the audience go in to see rehearsals?
Does the interval happen after the Saturday recording and before the Sunday recording?

BTW email says seated by 5.50pm

No you wont ... but expect Stuart to keep popping up all evening... He is around all the time in the studio for the live shows (helping the floor manager with getting the applause)... especially when filming the results show as its not live...

Seated by 5.50 means music act, some incidental filming, Bruce singing a song and warming up the crowd and Tess strutting her latest fashion disaster.

Actually my Eticket says 5.30. Doors open at 4.15 by which time all rehearsals will have been and gone.

Suspect that the filming will start about 6 pm after Stuart the warm up guy does a bit and although the jokes are the same, he is good at his job. If its the normal filming order then the music act will be filmed once (or twice depending if they dont get enough cheers/standing ovations etc at the right time). And maybe a pro or pro/celeb dance if there is one to plonk into the "live show" aka the Adams Family or A Chorus Line from earlier this year.

Interval happens after the live show ends and before the filming of the results although expect that to happen a bit out of order, although considering its Wemberley.. it might actually happen in time order.

Of the six thousand audience, how many will have had to pay for their seat?

My hubby said he would come with me if I really wanted him too, but he would rather stick forks in his eyes Fortunately I have friends who love strictly as much as me.

Yes, my Eticket said the same. But, I received an email yesterday with slightly different times.

Thank you for the information. Now it is a case of containing the excitement.
