Freesat HD - TV Link

Hi,

I'm Thinking of cancelling Sky and going to Freesat HD.

However, I have got a couple of questions:

Firstly, although I think I know this, am I correct in assuming I just get a recordable freesat HD box and just swap the cables from my Sky HD box. Would I need to buy anything else or shouls everything come with the Freesat HD box.

Secondly, i've got 2 magic eyes coming from my Sky HD box to 2 different TV's in the house. We originally had it just to one TV, which was set up before we moved in. We had a chap come round and put some sort of spliiter behind the Sky HD box and ran some cable so that we a magic eye on 2 TV's.

my question is, will I be able to set up the magic eye to my 2 TV's from my Freesat Box and what do i need or should a get someone around to sort it out.

Thanks in advance
Clive

1. Yes, just swap cables.

2. Probably the Sky Magic Eyes won't work, see something like http://www.tvlink.co.uk/tvlinkplus.htm instead, and if your chosen Freesat box doesn't have RF Out (i.e. aerial lead, not sure if any of them do?) then you will need an RF modulator to use your exsiting Sky Magic Eye RF cabling. Probably best asking an installer for advice.

And for what it's worth, I've got the output of my Freesat box going to another room via a long HDMI cable, with an IR eye which gives exactly the same remote control facilities as the old Magic Eye system. But with far better picture quality!

How do you do this?
Or if I connect my freesat box (Samsung) to bedroom tv (hd) via hdmi cable, then connect an old video recorder to freesat via scart, then rf out from video recorder via coax to magic eye in bedroom, would the remote control work,? or would I need seperate 9 volt power to make it work? assuming the video recorder has a modulator.
Thanks.

The HDMI output of my Freesat box goes into a HDMI splitter to provide 2 identical outputs, one to the local TV and the other to a TV in another room on a long HDMI cable.

I have one of these IR-over-HDMI injectors on the long cable which feeds back the IR from the remote room back down the HDMI cable to the Freesat box.
