They could quite easily have put IAC on ITV2 tonight, they did keep the spin off show afterwards, so it's not like everyone took the night off - and these kind of tacky shows are much more suited to ITV2 anyway... Or even stick all of the reality shows on some kind of Sky subscription channel, and see how many follow it there...
I didn't watch the football tonight (England are dire usually in friendlies), but for those of us who don't subscribe to the extortionate sports channels, it's one of the few chances to see football on free to air...
And with Freddie now out of IAC, can't see it being too interesting, if that excuse for a comedian Chrissy is the best they've got to cover...”
Why should a series which is on for a grand total of 3 weeks a year be moved around purely for the football? Football is continuously on throughout the year. I understand and completely agree with you that the soaps have to much screen time (repeats.)
If the football was going to be on which they'd have known I'm presuming way in advance? IAC should have been put on hold until after and started say, this weekend. Theres not really much of an excuse now NOT to put a sports channel on free to view on freeview etc. as nobody no longer has analogue.
And finally, your last point is matter of opinion. It's early in the series, so you never know who may/may not be interesting at this point in time.
