Every year IAC is pushed aside for the stupid football.

It's not like the players even come from the town that people support, or even in many cases the same country.

I do understand people don't want it on a subscription channel, but they could at least put it on ITV2 if they cant bring out a free sports channel”

So how many of the contestants in IACGMOOH come from the town where you live then!

If people support say Liverpool then I would understand them supporting their team if the players should come from Liverpool... but having them come from elsewhere, I don't understand their obsessive loyalty with a team...

Your question is not really relevant when applied to IAC though... people do not want to obsessively dress up like kids in silly clothes to look like them. It's more a people watching show which is probably why so many women watch it.

I'm not against the game of football itself per se played locally amongst schoolkids and small local teams ... I just hate the obsession people have about it that makes it so important in their lives to the extent that it impacts people who don't want to watch it. I also think it gets far too much airing over other sports. It was bad enough when it was Sat afternoon and then sat evening Match of the Day years ago... but now its midweek too. When do we ever see a swimming competition for example?

But what about people who don't like soaps and reality shows? They're on every single night of the week! It's quite rare for football to be on a terrestial channel nowadays so i really can't see the problem.

I don't watch soaps or any other reality shows but this one - thats why I get upset when they mess around with the schedule for one of the few things on TV I do watch.

They should put the football or IAC on ITV2 - I don't mind which.

Unfortunately Squillion schedules get messed up at some point for pretty much everything and theres not much we can do about it. Just be grateful we live in an age where we can watch tv at all because hundreds of generations before us never had that technology! I think what i'm trying to say is that there are far more worse things that could happen compared to one of our fave tv programmes being changed for a week!

Well Southern Pride there are indeed just as there are far more important things in life than football!

BUT it is still something I am not happy about when football pushes IAC out the way as it is perceived to be more important and that was the point of my post! There is little enough worth watching on TV as it is!

This happens with every sports event and have to say that the BBC are the worst culprits, whether it be darts, snooker, athletics or bloody Wimbledonk. Just wait till the olympics when just like the world cup you'll get every corporate sponsor under the sun ramming it down our throats. It's because the sponsors are more important than the viewers. They think everyone wants to sit around watching sport whilst having adverts for Coca-cola shoved in their face. And there's no point going out to escape it because it's on every pop bottle, beer can, sweet wrapper etc just to remind you about it.

I thought when Freeview came out we were gonna have dedicated sports channels to put a stop to all this intrusion. Every time there's a sports event on, everyone's got to stop, sit up and take notice whether they like it or not. Instead we have a dozen channels showing repeats of 20 year old detective dramas, 80's game shows and back to back episodes of Top Gear. Stuff which was crap the first time round.

The world does NOT revolve around sport!
