Humax Foxsat HDR - setting to start up in Non Freesat mode
phaselock
16-11-2011
My Humax Foxsat HDR previously always started up in Non Freesat mode as that's the mode I always use, having no need of Freesat.

The box appears to have defeated my best efforts to avoid an over air upgrade by keeping it out of standby mode, and now, apparently as a result, always starts up in Freesat mode.
I can't find any menu setting to reset it to Non Freesat startup and so have to go through the rigmarole of switching it back to Non Freesat on each use.

Please advise how to set the box to start up in Non Freesat mode.

Not entirely sure why you want to do this

But you need to make sure the box is not put in sby overnight and you do not set freesat mode recordings which will revert the box to freesat mode.

Sounds more tham a bit eccentric to me. If you wanted a generic free to air box why did you not just buy one

You could just do a factory reset with no lnb connections and then connect them to do a manual tune. Again why is hard to imagine

Why you would buy a Freesat+ PVR and cripple it to become a twin tuner pvr with no timer recording, no Accurate Recording, No Series Recording, not auto channel updates, no chapter thumbnail generation is hard to guess
