personally i dont think they will ever manage to stop illeagal music downloads, i think too many people will always be willing to take the risk of making there files available.
personally i dont share the music files i've downloaded.

whats everyone think? anyone sitting worried?

I don't understand quite what they're getting at. Are they suing people who:

a) upload loads of stuff for others to download?
b) download loads of stuff?
c) both?

Confusing, but still scary stuff.

Mass-uploaders will be first i'd say.

For the music downloaders,

They will probably go around trying to find them and find that most of them are younger people who can't afford to buy rip-off cds or overpriced downloads.

Probably both...

Just another question, are they getting people who only bother copyrighted work, or will I get nicked for sharing files of drunken shouting recorded in a mates front room at a party and renamed the file Britney spears - toxic.mp3???

Even if they do start suing random people, it isn't going to "save the music industry". Me, and most people around my age wouldn't go out and buy CDs if there was no filesharing because we can't afford them. Also, in general I have about three songs by all of the artists I've dled music by, and the artists that I have more mp3's by, I've got their CDs.

downloaders dont have to worry for the moment anyway its only mass uploaders who will be targetted.

Surely people could deny this and say that it was not them using their PC and say they have no idea who it was or when they did it. Unless somebody is caught in the act surely it is really hard to prove anything? Obviously the people who have been prosecuted must have admitted to it.

Edited to add
I also think that they have more chance of going after somebody who has a static IP address.
