My sprocker scratches at the couches - on the bottom sides, on the actual seats and it is all becoming a bit much now. We get his attention but it is like he switches off, we give him something to play with but he still carries on and there is nothing under the couches for him to get at.

We are at our wits ends as it seems to be constantly every night.

Training and sharp no when he does it, don't leave him alone with the temptation until you have broken the habit. Takes a while but that's the only way really.

We have tried saying "no" to him whenever he does it and he just carries on like he hasnt heard us so in the end one of us has to go and pull him away. He doesn't do this when we are not there, it is just when we are in and sitting down that he starts.

Training so he understands no means no. Mine know if I say no in a certain tone that's it they stop immediately it took work but that's what you have to do.
